OMG I paid rs 130 for the same.

Your stocking idea is nice but you are creating an artificial demand itself.
Carburetor minor packing set itself costs 50 bucks in B'lore!!

I am sure you have not got the whole set for 130. Its half set.

The MRP on the full packing set itself is 340rs or so.....

Regarding the demand for parts... Artificial demand???? at least in B'lore many parts which were available few months back are not available now. I am not forcing anyone to buy it, just that I wanted to know the current situation of parts availability.

Dear all - you all have forgotten the suspension spider kit. Please keep it if you can find it. It is very important to have this part.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

If we don't hurry now as the parts are getting scarce even at scrap yards as the cars are getting vanished rapidly and soon or later all the fiat/ premiers parts will be history then we cant do much.

I agree with you Chanu. I keep telling Arun that we are in the Honeymoon period and this is the "Golden Period" to stock parts.

Not to mention we also need to keep an eye on the hoarders. I know of someone who has already taken 4 intake manifolds of the 170 that were made. Just kidding. All is fair in love for fiats.
What we ideally need to do is locate the shops who stock these parts and have a good rapport with such guys. They can also guide us if not really have the parts. With PP going off the road as taxis there is scope for inventory being on the shelves. Also it will also help them not sell off to Chor Bazaar fellows. A prominent shop owner in Mumbai Central came out of his shop to see my S1 when I told him about FCCCI.
Just for information sake, know an uncle who had a shop stocked with parts of American classics in Opera House. In 1993 in the wake of Bombay blasts, when the import norms got tighter, they found it dificult to both import and also sell as there were fewer american cars, they decided to clear their inventory. They sold a truckload of parts worth 3 lakhs for a mere 30k.

What could be done (only for the love for the Fiat/Premier padmini) who ever, whenever visits scrap yard and finds the parts need to let others know about that through this forum so that the one who needs that can buy or stock it but lets make sure we don't create an artificial scarcity for ourselves by over stocking multiple numbers. I hope you all are getting my point. By this DON'T FORGET ME to add on to you list friends.

As Dhabhar sir stated to stock the suspension spider kit i was thinking of how does it look like. As i don't have in depth knowledge about these cars i asked this question. Will the padmini model's spider kit be fitted in my S1.
Every third day (to be precise) a PP and an amby followed by a 800 sometimes, are broken into pieces and right away sold to scrap recyclers. So its very difficult to get cosmetic bits as they only stock mechanical parts that too for the mumbai taxi wallas.

Do these have a name like "Allied" on them? If so, they are apparently just polished cast iron, they are known to break easily, especially the door locking handles! I've seen many and even have had a few of them!

Best are the stainless steel ones that even feel heavier and so can be identified easily. They are second in quality to the original aluminium ones that came on 1100s.

Shyam what make are the ones you referring (the stainless steel one).
Do the used ones last long if i get them from scrapped car. Also is the rubber pad used for these handles which fits inside the door panel available in the market?
