How come he drove so little? He was quite enthusiastic about it when he bought it!
I have the speedo reading the time car went from here, after having spoken to Kalyan, he says where are free roads in Hyderabad and time to drive the car around.

Due to this both the rear wheel cylinders had blown and were leaking oil.

Clutch had become sticky and was not functioning.

Updates

1) Both rear wheel cylinders replaced
2) New Collar bush for the starter replaced
3) New Clutch replaced and adjusted
4) Both axle seals replaced
5) Engine tuned up well

Pending

1) Bit of tinkering at the front, 75% done
2) Bumpers clamp will be made tomorrow
3) One good thorough wash pending.

Firstly srisha, congratulations and hope you enjoyed your surprise. I did know about this "surprise" and was gettin regular updates. I can imagine your excitement . Also a word of appreciation to your wife as well, that she took the time and effort to coordinate this rather challenging task.you two make a wonderful couple. Welcome to the bangalore beetle club.

Thank you Ryan. I dont know if you remember, but I had spoke to you 2 years ago just before this one went to HYD. I had called to enquire about this one and you had then also suggested 2 engine variants, unfortunately the price point didn't meet and i had to let it go,

Who knew that the same car would come back to me after 2 years, this is what is called "destiny" i guess.

Anyways, lets meet up some time during the weekend. I am coming over on Sat, lets try and meet.

my beetle seems to be ready now, going to pick it up tomorrow. Give her a nice wash, and get a nice polish done on sunday morning by Naushad (who is gaining popularity among the tbhpians now)

Just when we thought we had solved all the issues with the car, we have a new problem on hand.

The car was almost ready to be driven home by srisha by around 6:30 pm today.

1) Nose cone gear box bedding cut, solved it temporarily
2) Battery which as per the seller was new is not holding charge

The worst thing is, I literally pushed Srisha to drive it home, but 15 kms later the car refuses to start. Problem - Dead Battery

what a pity!!! it must have been really frustrating to have a dead battery when you have paid lakhs to buy a restored car especially as a present.
