Original Mercedes 240D 123..

Dear Friends
This Benz is a single owner original car since bought in 1984. Even the medicines in the first aid box is what came with the car. Kind of a well preserved car. I have covered 400K KMS. Even now she does all my long distance trips.
I am writing this as many of you are restoring Mercedes of near about models, in case any of you would like to see how an original looked like, it will be my pleasure to show the car.
Good Luck on restoration
Ramanna

Hi Ramanna,

I would like to know what is the brand/type/grade of various oils used for servicing this very well maintained car.

Is that with a/c and automatic gears?

GAL - is this a GOA registration I suppose you picked her up from the Asian games lot. My dad was requested by a friend to pick one up from STC as they were given charge of all cars after the games and when he went there he saw line upon line of them all in a lot and the were all white = he ended up picking up a 200D with barely some few K's. What money did you pay on those days?

W123 is surely a wonderful vehicle.
Just by looking at the vehicle one is transported back in the old era and that you have it for 26 years and used it for 400k kms, that truly is an amazing feat!!! Not to mention maintaining it throughly!!

Please share more ownership experiences, costs, good and bad experiences that you remember!!!
Also a humble request to post more interior and exterior pictures.
Cheers

Beautiful car! My favourite Mercedes, growing up in the 80s. I used to have posters and brochures of this model. Please do post more photos.

Just make sure you don't ever use them . Something tells me they are way past their expiry date.

Jokes apart, your 123 looks fresh in that 2006 dated picture. Known to be amongst the best ol' Merc workhorses, the 400K mileage is a testament to its durability. In fact, on some international Mercedes forums, I've seen Senior members pooh-pooing the W124 & stating its not as well-built or robust as the W123. Congrats on owning a truly iconic automobile, and more so on keeping her in such fabulous shape.

As others have requested, may we have more pictures?
