Re: My Beetle Stage 1

After much mechanical issue from clutch to the fork to the pressure plate to some rounds again of the clutch cable and some more parts here and there with the engine pulled out for the 3rd time . I think the car is finally ready .. but the trial has not been taken yet.

Cheers to another round saying with a tiny bit of confidence.

Re: My Beetle Stage 1

Your Beetle looks so wonderful.
Paint job / PAIN job should really get full marks.

However, I am curious to know why the Bumpers are painted and not chromed.

Re: My Beetle Stage 1

I dont have the chrome ring but will source one soon, If I do fail would love to have the spare that you have. The Paint and as mentioned pain Job is still a long way from polish but will be there. The Bumpers Ahh ! was tobe replaced with new ones from a company in India who was surcing them but have come to know they are not . So Got the Guards and Bumpers will go into chroming post the Monsoon . The overriders have come . Lots of small issues and things but I see light in the end of the tunnel

Thank you for your appreciation really helps and encourages always

Cheers

Good to know that you are still getting new add-ons to the car even after the restoration is complete..

BTW, can you confirm if you've received the Early carbon type Pressure plate that i sent you...? I hope your problem solves with this thing.

Wishing your Bug all the best for a fast recovery.

Re: My Beetle Stage 1

Still adding and found a few more and few sourced . Well the car is now at 98% and crossing fingers . A detailed report on the first long drive post Sunday will be posted and shall share with all. Awaiting the pressure plate to mount and go ahead ! That is the only thing pending !

Got some rare lights the Rossi Style which shall be put once rechromed and a nice accessory of the Boot Luggage Rack. Now a period suitcase has to be sourced.

Nice! These look like the original metal ones (with Rossi logo) and not the modern-day plastic repros. Cool period accessory. Should look great once installed.

Great restoration, Kasli !! As always great attention to details.
The luggage rack would certainly add more appeal to the car.

wonderful, the luggage rack looks very nice and cool and so is the idea to find the old looking luggage,i had a bitter experience with the rossie style lights, although they looks very nice but are very sensitive especially at the time of fitting,so try to be extra cautious and vigil and very soft handed when fitting, i cracked one when i was fitting mine, wish u all the best hope to see them soon on your beautiful car.

The repro plastic Rossi style headlamps manufactured by EMPI are very fragile. In fact the company does not offer any warranty on them !! :-)

The one's that kasli has shown in his pictures seem to be original metal one's with the Rossi logo. These are generally more durable, but harder to come by.
