She is simply breathtaking and congrats for winning the award. The workmanship is excellent. Some intimate pictures of engine bay, door panels, seats, etc are highly anticipated.
I suggest that you try to get the number plate in those embossed figures that were of that period. Else at least keep White numbers over black plate. This gives the car a very authentic look.

Thanks for the appreciation, means a lot !! I will upload some detailed pictures soon, also your suggestion about the number plate is something which I have thought before, white on black is not allowed as we all know, but then who questions/stops a vintage car so maybe I would give it a shot !!

cheers

Interestingly enough, we can be quite certain that in 1930, a car like a Morris Minor would have had a hand painted number plate, and often not even very neatly done I would think the cast, stamped or embossed plates came into vogue in the 1940s.

Having said that, I too would love to see the black plates on the car - cast or otherwise.

EDIT - The USJ series I assume was introduced in the 1940s. If you have the original RC book, the old number will probably be visible somewhere.

Kartikeyal,

Your enthusiasm is wonderful. Hope you have many happy years of vintage motoring.

You guys should shun local politics like Bombay enthusiasts, and begin informal drives within the city and beyond. Once that happens, you will be hooked.

Bombay guys have fiat drives, Beetle drives ,coffee drives , Mahableshwar drives, Rajasthan drives etc, GREAT FUN, no judges or self styled/ appointed experts. Only pure enthusiasts having fun.

re: My Morris Minor 1930 OHC Tourer

Great car Kartik Sir. I had once spotted your Morris Minor around 11 months back on JLN Marg and it was a delight to see this car run. I am not a vintage car expert so clicked a picture then to ask the experts here to identify it but forgot to post later on.

Didn't knew it belonged to a BHPian from Jaipur and already doing rounds here.
Hope you don't mind if I post the photo here.

re: My Morris Minor 1930 OHC Tourer

Here is a picture of the Morris from Rally Day.
My Morris Minor 1930 OHC Tourer-usj-1795.jpg

Over the last few weeks, I made many changes in the car, painted the wheels black instead of red, Got new upholstery as per original patterns I received from UK, new carpet, and a cover for the hood.

Overall it was fun two days and I enjoyed admiring so many beauties,
The Minor was also adjudicated the best maintained vintage car, which makes me happy, though I am not in this for awards !!

cheers
