Re: Cars of HH Nawab Sadiq M Abbasi V of Bahawalpur, Pakistan

Correction and addition in my last post:
Sahibzada Haroon ur Rashid, the boy on the steering was the son and not grand son of HH the Nawab Sadiq Abbasi V. In this picture circa 1929, he was 5 years old, born in 1924.
Sahibzada Suleiman Abbasi reckons the boy leaning on the fender may be Sahibzada Abbas Khan Abbasi, the eldest son and later the Nawab in 1966. He is father of Sahibzada Salah ud din Abbasi and Sahibzada Falah ud Din Abbasi (late).

"Another" fanciful history of the fabulous car. This time, complete with Sidelfingen coachwork!

Credit to the model builder, it looks lovely. Almost as good as mine

Cars of HH Nawab Sadiq M Abbasi V of Bahawalpur, Pakistan-img20221004wa0100.jpg

Here is a picture circa mid thirties that came my way from a family member. Standing front row from left to right are three of HH Sadiq M. Abbasi V sons. Left most is Haroon ur Rasheed Abbasi (second eldest son) middle is my father Sadiq ur Rasheed Abbasi (fourth eldest son) and to the right is Abbasi Abbasi (crown prince and eldest son). The three gents standing in the back are staff of the palace. The occasion seems to be shikar judging from the ammunition belt and shot gun with my eldest uncle.

The car in the background is a 1934 Lasalle Series 50 4 door sedan identified by Shujja who has posted a more recent picture of the car in post # 40. Another period picture of the car has been posted by F. Abbasi in post number 37 of this thread.

Two views of the Bahawalpur Mercedes 680S that I have not seen before.
The front view seems to have been taken at some Concours event.

Re: Cars of HH Nawab Sadiq M Abbasi V of Bahawalpur, Pakistan

I am sorry about the back to back posts, but did not see this in time to edit previous post.

Serial numbers are quoted, along with the claim that the car was bodied by Sindelfingen (it was long thought to be Thrupp and Maberly)

The concours is identified as Wiesbaden with racing driver Willy Walb at the wheel.

Also makes numerous references to "Bhopal", with car going to Bahawalpur in the mid 1930's.

Very interesting read. Wonder where all this specific information came from.

There's a Silver Wraith in this video at around 47:30 that is claimed to be ex Bahawalpur.

Apologies if this has been posted before.
