Hand-built scale model: 1926 Bentley 6.5L! UPDATE: More added

Hi There

Í am Gregor Mager and I'm New to your Forum. My Hobby is to make model cars and I'm an Enthusiast of all cars in the world.

I have some questions to you about this car.

Is it there in India or in any other Country? Does anybody know about the wooden Fender? And I'm looking since 15 years for a Picture from the Driver side?

I built the 1926 Bentley 6.5l # 2563 in a scale of 1:10 and in Resin in 1:87 / HO.

Some pics:

Hello Gregor, welcome to TeamBHP.

Though I have no answers to your questions, I cannot but say that you are amazingly talented!! Wow!! Would love to know how you make these models on your own. A picture-log would be superb!

Hi Gregor and welcome to the forum. Your model cars are absolutely amazing. I posses nil knowledge about vintage / antique cars, but your pics blew me away.

Please post more photos of your endeavours (in a separate thread perhaps) and also details as to how you actually go about making the models, form selecting the specific car, collating data, how much time etc etc.

Would love to hear / see more from you.

Welcome to TBHP. There should be a side view (left side) in "Bentley, 50 years of the Marque" by Johnnie Greene.

It only had the foot board mounted auxiliary battery / accumulator box on the left side.

The car was bodied in metal, but painted in "imitation wood" as was in vogue during the 1920's. The car does not survive, as far as I know.

I thought I was the first one to attempt recreating this car (1/24 scale). It is still in the "held together with rubber band" stage - will post some work in process photos!

Your effort is commendable; and pretty accurate representation in 1/10!

This is the picture of #WB2563 from Johnnie Green's book. The cable drum on the running board for the detachable spotlight is clearly visible.

Hello again

Now, I will show you the Bentley 6,5l #2563.

All models where handmade by me. There are no kit´s. The Bentley was made in separate parts, made of brass sections and Sheets. All these parts have been soldered. I worked for about two years on it.

The Fenders are fattened with fiberglass and sanded. All parts are movable. The searchlight is working with the steering.

The Model I built in 2002/03.
Archive Images I got from my good friend. K.J.Rossfeldt. www.rrab.com. He is a Book writer for Rolls Royce and Bentley. He was a lifelong gratitude. With his help, the data cloud be implemented into the model.

The wheels I have made of can lid. The spokes soldered to conical timber and connected with the rim. The weight of the car is about 3,5 kg brass.

It would be nice to know if the Bentley still exists.

Another good friend from me, looked in archives in England by Bentley, about this car. But nothing. No useful documents. Pictures / Photos from the left side there are plenty, but not from the right side. Nodbody know´s why not.

Hope you like and enjoy my construction phases.

Gregor, Simply no words to explain the attention you had paid for the details. The lights, tools inside the tool box, etc. Amazing talent, well utilized.
From Hergatz, I was expecting some Bavarian & Stuttgarten beauties lined up in the scale model garage.

Gregor

You my friend are an artist.
Do you put these up for showcasing in any of the displays in museums or car galleries.
Each of these are worth a second look.
