Picture and info credit : Ramachandra Rao Sahib Arni

Some interesting info :
Quote:
My parents marriage was an arranged one and took place in 1925. My mother was then 15 years old and father was 21 . My mother was from the distinguished Purnaiya family, the grand daughter of Sir Purnaiya Narasinga Rao Krishnamurthy, Dewan of Mysore, and the Jagirdar of Yellandur). Her mother, the Jagirdarni of Yellandur was interested in getting her daughter to marry* my father, son of A. Thirumala Rao Sahib, Jagirdar of Arni . My mother's second cousin was also interested in "acquiring" him. The question of the dowry came up. My father wished that it be settled in terms of the number of automobiles offered. My mother won the auction with 21 cars - obviously not at one go - but in stages ! Therefore, in spite of the Arni Jagir being then under the Court of Wards, Dad was still able to conduct his hobby of car collection!

We have earlier seen the pictures of 1946 Chevrolet Fleet-master, hunting special of Maharaja of Bikaner, the car was restored by Mr. Ravi Kapur and was regular at the Jaipur rally, until it was sold off.

Thanks to Mr. Uday Singh Jubbal, we can get a faint glimpse of the car next to jeep.

From Wikipedia

Quote:
Krushna Chandra Gajapati (26 April 1892 25 May 1974), honorably known as Maharaja Sir Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayana Dev KCIE, was a key personality and regarded as the architect of an Independent united Odisha State.

Sir Gajapati was a scion of the great Ganga Dynasty of Paralakhemundi, a Great Freedom Fighter, the first Prime Minister of Odisha and one of the founding fathers of the Indian Constitution, being a Member of the Constituent Assembly of India. The present-day Gajapati District of Odisha which was earlier a part of the historic Ganjam district was named after him
Some pictures, I have added a couple of pictures without cars so that identity of the British visitor can be ascertained.

This Bentley with Faridkot connect is up for sale in UK and is listed here

Chassis #B256EY

Bentley Mark VI Park Ward Convertible

Quote:
This very rare short wing Drop Head Foursome Coupe was built to the exact specification of her first owner including very rare silent hydraulic windows and hood. She was delivered new to his Yorkshire home in November 1949.

She was spotted by a young Indian Prince who persuaded the owner to sell her to him. Prince Harmohinder Singh of Faridkot became a familiar sight in his rare prized Bentley at Cambridge university and enjoyed the Bentley so much that the young Prince acquired a standard Bentley MKVI which he retained at the family Palace in India. Which we understand is still in their Royal collection.
