These Ugh wheel caps could be seen on many a Contessa earlier so they are definately a local fitment.
actually two tone in this era was usually, only found on higher end cars, it was just after the war, and it took too much time and labour for two toning. and yes, in case of two toning, the complete body and bonnet should be one colour and the mudguards another.

Awini, now that i see it carefully i think you may be right about the Talbot guy being influenced by the paint on your car. Both have similar paint contours. Only your car has a stripe (patti) which would warrant a change in colour in the surfaces above and below the patti whereas the Talbot has none, so its very possible that the job was done keeping the Lagonda in perspective, especially since you say both cars are from the same city.

Re: Sunbeam Talbot 10 Open Tourer

Here are pictures of a very original Sunbeam Talbot 10 in Bangalore. Some minor correction like tail lights etc, need to be corrected.

This car was garaged in Bangalore for more than 20 years and was sold on recently, to a large collector. The car is in very good hands.

Could you be a bit clear?

The car above is Madras registered. From the Mid - 'Fifties.

One or two digit number?
I didn't follow.

Probably, but not sure, that Sunbeam from Baroda is meant by Kasli shown in the photo, taken from this forum, now with Hegde of Dharmasthala. See

But let us wait for clarification. As said above, this is only a possibility, so "maybe".

Cheers harit

Read somewhere on internet that only 97 tourers are left in the world!
so this could be one of those.

Guess Kasli is referring to the car in Post 1 (posted in Dec 2007)

Awini, You are absolutely correct, He did copy seeing The Lagonda. The Talbot is in Ahmedabad and a Daily driven car.

its posible the sunbeam owner saw the lagonda before painting his car? as the sunbeam is gujrat registered, and the lagonda too was in ahmedabad.

I would say a bit more than minor correction - seems to be chopped from a four door saloon. Still a great car to run as it is, and enjoy.

After you have pointed out, I believe you are right. Google baba confirms the same that this is a chopped car.
