Sunbeam Talbot 10 Open Tourer

Two days back i met this beauty in the lane next to my place.
A Sunbeam-talbot 10 Open tourer i think '46 model,the paint job seemed to be new..overall nicely maintained..
couldnt meet the owner/driver who brought this car for more info...

Read somewhere on internet that only 97 tourers are left in the world!
so this could be one of those.

She certainly looks good and Im sure a fresh coat of paint will do her wonders though I guess it could just be the camphone causing the paint to look a bit faded. Can anyone comment on whether the wheels and bumper are orignal.

I like the colour combo. Awini, you jealous yet?

The bumper matches the design on this similar car in Pune, so I supose it is original, or made to look like it.

The wheels look queer because of the cheapo wheelcovers fitted on. I suppose the original wheels are under there.

that a great find agspins. the talbot looks very nice and the bumpers of the car look original and dont look like they were fabricated. the wheel caps sure dont look original to me but i could be wrong. a weird design like pointed out by Karl.
there are two similar cars in bombay that i know off, one hardtop and the other a convertible.

nah, i dont care much for this colour combo on a british car anyway.and it really does not suit the shape of the car. a small car like this should be mono tone, or painted light colours.
these cars are basically just badge engeneered hillmans, but with an aluminium head,so performance was slightly better.
i can recall about half a dozen of these in delhi over the years. in fact i was offered a saloon pretty cheap about two years ago, but again, i let it go because of lack of correct documentation.

yeah, i know why you asked. i dont like it much on the lagonda either, but i didnt paint the lagonda. if it were up to me, i would have retained the lovely rich burgundy it left the factory with.
its posible the sunbeam owner saw the lagonda before painting his car? as the sunbeam is gujrat registered, and the lagonda too was in ahmedabad.

Great find agspins. The colour is a weird one and even then has not been painted right. Correct me if im wrong, in two toned cars of this era, the colour always covered the entire door and was not swooshed on to just a part. These Ugh wheel caps could be seen on many a Contessa earlier so they are definately a local fitment.
