98% confirmed!!! The ex-Capt. J.E.P. Howey H6C is coming to India in 2018!!! |
This car (Chassis 11024) was originally owned by the Howey family. However, they were unrelated to the Howey brothers - Capt.J.E.P Howey and R.B.Howey of Brooklands racing fame.

Thanks to Mr. Kanwardeep Jaura sharing these nostalgia pictures from the Stateman Rally, Delhi
Cheers

The ex Rajkot J12 with DeVillar's allweather coachwork. Still showing the Gujarat registration number here.

A tickford Hispano for Alwar - I don't think this is one of the survivors, is it?

This is lovely, KPS. To see all these cars in period; and views not previously seen!
Hi
Can anyone identify the attached Hispano being used by a Maharaja? Asking for a friend in France. Thanks

The headgear worn by the gentleman looks very ‘Karnataka’.

There are nine "India" H6B's that I have no photos or body / coachbuilder info on. Chassis / Engine numbers below:
10180 / 300,218
10189 / 300,244
10283 / 300, 318 (Kapurthala)
10383 / 300,358 (Alwar)
10607 / 300,671 (Udaipur ?)
10685 / 300, 737 (Alwar ?)
10688 / 300, 736 (Alwar)
10692 / 300,738 (Alwar)
10808 / 300,867 (Rajpipla)
Perhaps someone more expert on H-S can use this list to narrow down the possibilities. The headlamps and wheel discs look British.
There is some writing at the bottom that I cannot decipher. The location (to me) looks more like South of France / Mediterranean than India.
Lovely photo, Steve!
