The exact history is not known by me. All I know is that it belongs to a business family and there is Buick also with them. The Hyd bhpians would be better bet to help with exact details.

Thanks

The car in your pictures and the one you refer to kept company with a 39 Roadmaster convertible sedan is the Baroda PII not a 20 25.

My "deduction" is that this is ex-Baroda PII Chassis 101-GY by Arthur Mulliner. I have seen it described both as a Limousine and as a Landaulette

That car still is the black and ivory and it's a PII. I don't know about where it came from but something about it being confiscated when the previous owner attempted to ship it out or something like that?

Thanks guys.
It seems that this car is a Baroda PII, was restored in Ahmedabad by Gajjar. When he sold his cars, this car came to Juhu, went to the docs, came back and was sold on to Hyderabad. I am aware that the engine had some major issues, and these were tackled by a mechanic Ali from Hyderabad who is no more. I believe that he used spares from another engine. This car is apparently rarely seen. Engine had the usual problem, aluminium head corroded. I don't remember her as a Landaulette, but this goes back more than 30 years when I saw her at Juhu.
We rarely get to see pictures of such cars prior to restoration

Cheers harit

The car in your picture and teh Hyd / Baroda PII are not teh same cars Harit....that car in Hyd is not a Landaulette but a full hard top Limo

Last I had seen the car all issues with the engine were sorted and it ran perfect. Knowing the onwer there is no way he would keep teh car in poor mechanical condition.

Some parts, maybe head etc were imported from UK. I had supplied contact details

That is why I used the word "seems" and commented that I didn't remember the car in Juhu to be a Landaulette. Its when I have doubts that I put these pics up.
The next car, is that now with Sanghi? The photo was taken before 1985.

Cheers harit

Ironically living in Hyd it's now ages since I saw the car. I forget if it has the irons on the side. If the car had originally been a landaulet it would be wonderful to restore it back to the original design.

Harit is right about a spare engine being procured to sort out the engine issues. Many years ago when Ali was still around I remember he had the car in such fine tune the engine would spring to life in a quarter turn.

This is Baroda RR PIII 3BU-106. Same car we saw in the "Shatranj" movie poster earlier. Seems to have lost its cream wheel discs.

Harit, do you have a rear / side view you could post ?
