It has been confirmed that there is no indication of India or Maharaja on the chassis card. Not that it is impossible!

A period photo below:

After seeing the images I fail to understand why was there a MORDERN cigarette lighter on the dash :( . Can't they just conceal it to keep the looks clean. But said that the car is beautiful and wonderful lines .

Cheers

I hadn't noticed it before, but you're absolutely right! A chrome buttoned one would have been the easiest remedy.

Classic Rolls Royces in India-bikanir-rr-pi-9lc-scale-model-tbhp.jpg

The Bikanir RR PI 9LC in 1/43 scale from Matrix Scale Models.

Good detail and pretty authentic for a $100 model

What a handsome car 3XJ is, fantastic proportions!

On a side note, people in Calcutta still talk about "Darbhanga" and when they do, it's associated with wealth, power, and the fleet of superlative Rollers they had. Indeed there's still a Darbhanga Palace and a Darbhanga House in Calcutta, both in decay or already demolished and being built up. But what happened to the family itself? I haven't heard of anyone from the Darbhanga family who is around today (I'm sure they're there somewhere). How can such a fabulously rich and famous family vanish in the course of 60 years? Anyone know where the current descendants live?

You can read the rather sad Darbhanga story here (it is from 1982, things could be worse now):

Below is their magnificent Bentley from the story. Luckily, it survives in good nick

According to Wikipedia,The last Maharaja of Darbhanga Raj was Maharaja Bahadur Sir Kameshwar Singh, K.C.I.E. He died heirless.
Lots of people on Facebook with that name.

Srinivas Iyer is the current titular king of raj darbanga

Travancore, I believe you mean WVA60, the 1947 Silver Wraith Park Ward 4-door 4-light saloon originally delivered to Prince Muazzam Jah of Hyderabad (a.k.a. Walashan Sahebzada Nawab Mir Sir Shuja’at Ali Khan Bahadur) and later part of the Bhogilal collection?

Neither - the car is WVA6 Park Ward Limousine, use as Indian State car from new. Presently in Mumbai.

Thank you, 'Karlos', for setting me straight. Live and learn! I should have checked pp 112 & 113 of Andrew Pastouna's 'Rolls-Royce State Motor Cars' before leaping into 'print'.
The car is described therein by Pastouna as "a rather uninspiring Park Ward limousine", and at least that cannot be disputed!
