Recently i saw a 1923 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Limousine being restored in hyderabad.
I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw this marvel.
Deccan Heritage Automobile Association will mostly have it in display for its Republic Day Rally in 2010.

There are 2 boat tailed Rolls around, and I believe both bodies were more recently constructed.

The Sanghi car was present at the recent Cartier show (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintag...es-report.html)

It appears to have been re-registered of late as the numbers don't match.

I don't know much about the other car, perhaps others can help.

Any more pictures from the event of other cars as well?

Rolls Royce Phantom

I came across this Rolls Royce a few years ago while on business in India, and have used one of the images in several places. I keep getting asked for more information about it!

From what I have been able to gather, it is a 1928 Phantom I, right hand drive, 6-cylinder straight line, 4 wheel mechanical braking system, 20 HP.

Is that correct? Can anyone tell me anything more about this car?

First of all, welcome to the forum!!

Thats a nice car seemingly in good condition. Wherabouts in India is this?

Please note that 'Phantom I' and '20hp' were two different models. This one seems to be a 20hp.

Very interesting, you've come to the right place. Some seniors should be along shortly with details I hope.

Where in India did you see the car? Did you get any more photos at other angles? Were there any other classics along with the Rolls?

as mentioned by Aditya, this is a 20 HP tourer RHD and seems to be a very clean car. Looking at the shed and structure, I would dare a guess that this car is in Gujrat, the surroundings are so dry

But seriously, these pictures again prove that India is so large that cars still crop up about which we have no clue.
In short, a new pic. Where was this picture taken?

Cheers harit

Does that explain the grim expressions?

A similar 20 hp is here in Hyderabad. Could be this car. It was in just this colour when I saw it last.

Where is THIS now?
A Rolls which participated in a rallt in Delhi more than 10 years ago. The owner at that time was probably Mr. Ranjit and he told me that this was once a Lady Muckerjee's car.
Headlights appear to tilt forward.

Hi Harit,

I'm sure Mr. RM (in Delhi) is just a phone call away for you and he can tell you where Lady RM's car (from Calcutta) went after his possession of it. Coincidence that the initials are both RM here - and nothing more than that, for the info of the casual, and inquisitive, reader! Am sure Mr. RM in Delhi would be reading/aware of this also, since he knows what goes on on t-bhp.

Cheers,

Prabal

Very well said. Apparently the car has not been seen since long, perhaps some reader may throw some light.
I agree that RM may be reading t-bhp, and there are many others who do too. Maybe they can be enticed to join and contribute.

Karlos / Sabinesnubbing - any more views of this car ? The "Buick-ish" triple bumpers is interesting! Looks like a Phantom I going by the bent headlamp posts (I could be wrong). Cheers
