so the number of this car:CA694075,surely is from 1915.

Glad you were able to find the same. What amazes me is the way stuff was documented more than 100 years back and that is what make's Henry Ford such a legend. While you were able to find out the YOM but even in those days the records were so meticulous and detailed that one could actually tell the exact month, date and year the car was actually produced. The T under discussion was produced/manufactured on May 20th 1915 and mind you there were more than 15 Million produced and Ford has records of each of those 15 Million right from 1908 to 1941 which was the last year a T's engine was assembled.

This is a picture of my grand parents, aunts and uncles taken in Secunderabad, in the 1920's, in the family car.


I'm trying to identify the car. My guess is a Ford Model T. Could anyone confirm this, please?

Hi, your guess is correct. At that time Ford Model T's were quite plentiful in India, most of them were manufactured in Canada being RHD. Do you have any more family photos with family cars?

Below is a pic I just bought off from E-Bay, there are two Ford Model T's seen. There maybe up to around 40 T models still lying around in India, including brass T and a lorry.

I grew up about 10 miles from Windsor Ontario and as a teenager we preferred the Model A of which I have had a few, and while I have grown appreciative of the T and it's impact on the world, I would still take the A hands down.

It's been a while since I have posted on Team-bhp.
Having been sent an old family photo with my Great Grandmother driving an old car, after a lot of effort I have been able to identify it as a 1904 Ford Model "C", built at Ford Canada's new plant in Windsor Ontario, just across the Detroit River from Ford's newly opened Detroit factory.

Early 1904, Gordon McGregor, whose family operated the Walkerville Wagon Works near Windsor, saw the writing on the wall with the many Automobiles being built across the river in Detroit and put together a group of investors from Windsor and approached some of the Detroit Automotive Companies to build their cars in Windsor for the Canadian market to reduce the heavey 35% import duties, The third company they spoke to was struggling Henry Ford who had just set up a new plant seven months prior.

After some hard negotiations, "The Ford Motor Company of Canada" was was incorporated Aug. 17, 1904. The deal gave McGregor the rights to sell Ford Cars throughout the British empire with the exception of England and Ireland.

According to Herb Colling's "FORD CITY", just published last year, when Ford of Canada was founded in 1904 there were about 180 cars in all of Canada, of which 150 were Fords!

"In October 1904, with imported parts, McGregor drove the first Ford Model "C" down Sandwich St to the cheers of his 17 employees. With a top speed of 30 miles an hour, the four-passenger automobile has a cost of $1,100 Canadian Dollars. Unlike the American Model "C", access to the rear seats was a single door opening to the back whereas the Canadian version had two rear side doors. The 1905 American Ford "C" had side door. 25 Cars were produced by year end and by February 1905 the two Model "C"s and one Model "B" were sold in Toronto.

At the First Annual Shareholders Meeting on September 25, 1905, it was reported that 117 cars had been built at the Walkerville Wagon works of which 107 were the Model "C"s and 10 were the more luxurious Model "B"s, all were sold domestically.

By October 1905, the first Ford Car to be exported, was a Model "C" to Calcutta!

This Model T truck was recently restored by Mr. C.S Ananth of Team CSA

This 1927 Ford Model T truck was delivered today to her owner.

A complete, frame off restoration. The complete cargo deck was made in house. Complete mechanical rebuild of the engine, magneto, coil, steering box. The wooden artillery wheels were made in house, which TEAM CSA is well experienced. New leather upholstery, complete wiring with 2K Glasurit paint matching the original shade. Tyres from Comers.

The truck when she came to our works, had cargo deck of a new model truck, animal driven cart wheels and so on so forth.

My father, Shri Shashi Kumar Kanoria’s, first vintage car - 1925 FORD MODEL T - BRN 1763, comes back home after almost 50 years.

This car was bought by my father in 1968 from a Zamindar family of Bundu, a small town in Jharkhand. It was his first vintage car as a 22 year old newbie into this hobby.

He restored it himself and even won accolades in the subsequent Calcutta vintage car rally.

However, he had to let go of this car due to space issues, hence was sold to a then bollywood super star, and after changing few hands came into the possession of my dear friend Rishad Kundanmal, who had displayed this car in his office in a glass enclosure.

It took us 15 years to convince Rishad to let go of this car, and we finally succeeded. Once again it was a proud moment and my mother became the new owner of this car, all thanks to Rishad.

In addition to our emotional connect, the Ford Model T, is an iconic car

There is one rusting in the orchard in my village along with a few other relics including a Willys MB.
A Bangalore based hunter and writer Kenneth Anderson and his son Donald had a few of them ( maybe 7 or 8 ) in the 1950s and 60s. Wonder what happened to them.

Here is the Anderson " T"

T Model Ford circa 1940 owned by the Andersons. It literally had no body and was just a square box roped to the chassis. There were no mud guards and the horn was placed next to the driver's seat - not really a seat but an old petrol tank with cushions on top.
