Re: 1920 Chevrolet 490

Long time since I have been here. I would like to make some small comments to this: 1922 Chevrolet Six Sedan, belonging to a Nawab of Hyderabad that I clicked recently. The car had mechanical brakes and was powered by a six cylinder side valve engine.

The Classic Six was the first Chevrolet to be supplied with a 6-cyl. engine. It came in 1913 and dissapeared in 1915 after a little more than 500 cars were built. The next 6-cyl. engine came in 1929, so a 1922 Six Sedan is not excisting. If the car has a side valved engine mounted, that engine cannot be a Chevrolet make as that particular brand never made any side valve engines, but only Over Head Valved.

The first part of the pictures here may be from a 1922, but the last ones are clearly from a younger year. Good luck with the restoration.

Thanks for the information. There are pictures of a 1950's Chevrolet pick-up rusted spares that were also brought with the 1922 car. There is a mix-up of the pictures of both.
