Dussey,
That is a very fine looking Merc you have there and one that you can be rightly proud of. I owned and rebuilt many Mercs when I had a garage in Scotland in the 1980s and 90s but never tried my hand on anything older than the 1960s (two coupes).
I have a question please....
Is the WBA a 1938 registration and if so, do you know which part of West Bengal used the WBA letters? I ask because I have a deep interest in the pre-partition registrations in India and I do not know where WBA to WBE were. WBF to WBY I know and I am guessing that yours is probably Calcutta???
Cheers and keep up the good restrations.

Dussey,
This is my Fordson, hope the upload works, have still not mastered it.

Have a nice rally tomorrow in Chennai and say Hi to Anil. Hope his Charger shows up. This will be the debut of your 170V. Good Luck!

Thanks Harit, good Fordson, rather small picture though.
Taj have opened up a new property here at Chennai called 'The Taj Mount Road '. We Vintage & Classic Car enthusiasts had been invited for a small run and breakfast thereafter. It was a nice event conducted in the Taj style and about 35 cars participated. My 170 was a hit and I did get plenty of accolades. In fact the picture did come out in a few newspapers both English and regional . Anil did bring his Muscle cars, the Charger, a chevy and a beautiful Impala Convertable, besides his small Alfa. Shall try and post pictures when I lay my hands on some.

Congratulations, looking forward to seeing those pics.

What was the status of the car when you got it? How long did the restoration take? How easy was it to get the mechanicals in order with what was locally available? Im sure many of us are eager to know.

somewhere down the line.

This is a 1930's Mercedes Benz 170 V photographed by Thacker Vijay found in a cow shed in a village. A farmer owns this car and allowed him to take few pictures without revealing his name.

Hi Dussey,

Sorry about hijacking your thread, but I couldn't think of a better place to upload pictures of this 170V. Spotted at the Auto Expo '10:

Nice Roadster GTO, but seems a little overdone !
Perhaps wanted it to look like a 540K !
