Hi,

as this is 29-49 (29 is the model year starting in August 1928, ending July 1929) then it MUST be six cylinder. Buick went 8cyl in-line in model year 1931.

Considering all these Fisher Bodied cars were really just a wooden frame with the body skin nailed on,I would say you have a very long way to go yet. What sort of wood do you intend to use as a frame?
I am most impressed with the panel beating though.:)

Wouldn't that make the body unusually heavy and not a very faithful restoration.

How about going for a lighter wood.

I don't how available it is India but I have used Ash from England.It's light and incredibly strong . Teak would be strong but as it is a dense wood it would be very heavy and to cut the required finger joints Etc would take a lot of work.

Interesting work and nice pictures, please keep coming, we will wait for more pics, as the work progress. Also post pics of engine, gear box while it was tuned, as this will help to learn about mechanicals and chassis restoration and sometime parts need to fabricate if not available.

Friends this is where we are at the moment !! the crazy body work is 90 percent over !! Now we are at the stage, where we have started to assemble the body. Putting everything together and alignment of the body parts is in process now.

The car has almost been completed with a few items left to be sorted out.
It was shown at this years Kolkata Statesman Rally and this past week at the Kolkata Tolly Car & Pet Show.

If it had arrived a little early I was going to take lots of photos, but alas it didn't. I will be doing a detailed photo shoot in the next few weeks and will post lots of photos. It looks great and hope to have a ride in it.

The clock is pout of place. I would change it immediately. I suspect a meter or two are also non original but the car looks spanking good!!
