Here is something special, a Riley Tricar (3 Wheel car) maybe a 1904/05 model.

Re: Earliest Cars seen in India - Veteran and Edwardian

Here is a recent photo of the ex Prem Nath Motors 1905 Oldsmobile 20hp Tourer. Any previous history prior to their ownership we would be very interested to hear about
They only manufactured the 20hp for 1 year and that was 1905.
End of debate. Ask the AACA or the Oldsmobile club or the V.C.C.
In 1902 the curved dash Oldsmobile was available.

its nice to see that the bell is still there. even the chevy was closer to 1918-19 than the 1915 claimed. the olds used to smoke like a chimney, i hope its all sorted now. if i remember right, it had an adjustable steering column, and its Mid Engined! the bonnet up front houses fluid tanks. and the radiator badge up front, was a picture of a curved dash olds!

Re: Earliest Cars seen in India - Veteran and Edwardian

Hi Awini, Thanks for identifying the occupants. I have just got tyres and tubes for the 1905 Oldsmobile 20hp tourer. Still researching it before sorting it out. It still needs a fair bit of work. Here are some photos with the body off. Yes its a fore and aft flat twin. Someone has fitted a French distributor. It will have a appropriate trembler coil in due course. Difficult to research as it was a one season only model. Still trying to find another one.

I think in the past someone has seen 1902 written on the patents list and misunderstood this to be the date of manufacture.Would anyone care to attempt to date the photos and the venues? Maybe early Delhi Statesman rallies?
