Dear Friends 😊 Many thanks for all your good wishes. Yes, we have been travelling around France and have taken part in two events ; 1. Club De L’Auto from Chantilly to Reims. It was a lovely gathering and a 6 hour drive from Chantilly through Champagne to Reims. The organisers had done lot of research on our car and it’s previous owner His Highness Maharaja Yeswanth Rao Holkar of Indore, it was unbelievable Recently they had a Holkar art exhibition and found out the reason behind his affinity with the color, Ochre (yellowish orange). He not only patronised one of the finest Champagne’s - Veuve Clicquot for personal use and entertaining his guests but also loved the colors so much that it was the choice for his cars. The colours were composed during the early 19th century. Now the company is owned by Louis Vuitton The organisers arranged a tour of the vineyards, the magnificent cellars and also a lavish 5 course Champagne dinner on Saturday the 11th evening. The car was displayed in the Auto museum at Reims for public viewing. Both Chantilly and Reims are beautiful places. We met both old and new friends and thoroughly enjoyed their camaraderie. We also took part in Art Automobile at Chateau de Groussay, Montfort-l’Amaury. There were nearly 100 cars. We had a show on the 18th and 19th and had a lovely drive of nearly 100 kms early morning on Sunday to a Auto Restoration Centre and back for the display at the Chateau. Our own member and FIVA VP Gautam Sen was also one of the judges. There was a very close competition between 3 cars including ours. We received a special prize, the Mayor’s choice award, which we were thrilled with. It was a great moment for our lovely 1930 Delage D8, Figoni bodied sports tourer and us to be together Few photographs of the event Thanx once again for all your wishes and support Doc Prakash family |
