I was overjoyed when many of our employees who were privy to this amazing process stepped up today to request a picture with MDR 200.

I didn't realise that so many in our workshop had silently observed and admired the dramatic transformation of MDR 200.
Hi Deepak,

I'm not very active in this forum but someone from an AV forum has posted the link to your thread.

Fabulous job you guys have done.

I browsed first two or three pages and then the last page (Couldn't wait) and was about to suggest about the pic of the car with the team but discovered you have already done it here. That is a great gesture and mind you, a great motivator.

Wish you had posted a pic with the entire team (including the tea boy)

Regards

Rajesh

I missed a group picture on this car. With MDR a whole bunch of people who hadn't worked on the car ended up in many pictures so I posted the one with the main guys.

But on the 52 Chevy we painted last year I didn't miss the chance to take a picture with all the guys who worked on her, here is a snap. Many of the guys in the picture have worked on MDR 200 too

Here's another beauty we painted a few months ago, a Standard 2000. The bonnet on this car is a nightmare to finish as its too thin and invariably had waves. I had to sand half the bonnet myself to demonstrate how to still get a great finish. The end result was very nice

Great jobs....BTW did they complete the V8 upgrade on the Standard 2000 ? Could you please post some pics of it as it looks now.

Regarding the 52 Chevy what was its original colour, who used to have this car earlier. Asking because I don't recollect seeing it in Hyderabad in my times.

I saw another listing on ebay of the frames for the roadster. They were a bit cheaper but I don't think they had the wood. Ask him to check everything before he buys

The V8 is in and now the car is being finished.

This Chevy was originally black and later it was a blue (similar to police car blue) and then when we got this car for another uncle of mine he painted it a lime and offwhite combo. The car was sold to another uncle who has now painstakingly restored it to this condition.

There are many cars lying locked up in people's garages. I am aware of many such cars...wonder when they will eventually surface !!

The owners of the Chevy are the TVS group in Chennai. No way the car would ever be up for sale !!.

I saw this car in Chennai sometime back.

The car looks too good

The engine looked Great and Intact, But heard that the Guys there were preparing to remove the engine out, since its not firing. water, oil getting mixed up and supposedly in a Mess.

I hope the engine gets done ASAP and the car roars back to its original glory.

But still worth a Show Piece.

The head blew a hole into its water jacket and sadly its become too weak to repair, so am trying to locate a good used one from the US. Found one, getting it tested there before we bring it in.
