"ISI branded/stickered" helmets are available even by the roadside sir that are no close to the I of the ISI!

Completely agree about our attitude towards these safety measures. The other day, the taxi driver was arguing that I do not need to wear a seat belt and its compulsory by law only for the driver. He has a weird smirk on his face, when I told him that I am wearing it for my own safety.

One of my distant relative was saved in a hit and run case, only because he was wearing a helmet.

When I checked on a pair of riding boots (which was close to $200), they estimated the shipping charges to be around $60.
I badly want to upgrade my helmet so looked at some closeout options in Revzilla. But sadly, they will not ship internationally for orders less than $300. And borderlinx, aramex, myus all asking for insane shipping rates!

Naveen, try the SOL helmets. They are DOT certified and priced very reasonably.

If you want something more classy and premium, then go for the Airoh's which are available at Bachoo Motors or Orion Motors. I personally love the Airoh's for their paint finish and quality. They are pretty light compared to my SparX helmet too.

Aditya, do the Airoh's come with a quick release mechanism or double d-ring?

AFAIK, Airoh's come with the quick release mechanism and not the double D ring. However please check with the reseller (Bachoo Motors or Orion Motors) as this may vary on the models being sold in a certain region.

Bhpians,
Please look at the helmet, Salman Khan wears in Suzuki hayate’s advertisement.
I want to buy ditto same. Is it available in good brands?
Please also tell, is it OK with traffic police ( i mean approved design)?

It may be O.K. with the cops, but be honest and ask yourself a question - Would you be O.K. with this 'helmet' in case of a spill?

Sincere request to opt for a full face helmet.

It's available with the helmet shoppe and it's mentioned that vega markets this helmet and also specifically mentions that this product is not certified. So I guess you can run into trouble with the cops. And also it does not look safe at all. Please buy a full face. Check out this link for more info.

How good are these LS2s in terms of air ventilation ? It is of paramount importance to me, air ventilation. Which all manufacturers do you suggest keeping the air ventilation factor in mind ? Well ventilated helmet is what I need.
Also, has anyone bought a helmet from this PGS Biking Gears in Karol Bagh Delhi ?
They do keep LS2s. Are these genuine ?

Thanks.

This particular model in the SOL helmet range has the most no. of vents.

Most helmets sold today are equipped with a couple of vents on the top of the shell, another at the chin area and a couple of exhaust vents at the back of the shell. However do note that air ventilation will be maximum when riding on the open highway at some good speeds. In city traffic with stop and go conditions, there will be average air circulation.

Not sure if its approved by the traffic police or not, but a very similar looking one is available here from vega. http://www.fabmart.com/products/helmet-vega-german-hat

re: Which Helmet? Tips on buying a good helmet

Just saw some HJCs going for about 8.5K on PRS, about the same price as the entry level Airoh. Which one would one suggest, if you've seen both?

Even I was tempted to go for the HJC helmets. Someone here had posted a few pictures earlier. Looks pretty good.

PS :- SparX helmets are now available for 5-6.5k in some cities like Calcutta, Hyderabad, Bangalore. Thinking of getting one of these.
