haha! where do such people come from? Whats the use of a freaking helmet if they dont wear it? I saw another hero this one had his helmet on his arm and he was smoking

Now which one kills? ok both kill so which one kills faster? no helmet or smoking?

he is carrying the helmet just for the sake of it.just to avoid getting caught by the cops. helmets are very rare in nagpur since we dont have a helmet rule here, though the authorities are trying their best to enforce the law.i just hope the day comes very soon so that some can avoid losing their lives in minor accidents.rash riding is common here and so are accidents.i dont know when people will learn to value their lives.i believe that the helmet should be compulsory for the pillion too as its the pillion who has more probability to get hurt.awareness about helmets is the prime need of the hour

One of our bulleteer from Bangalore was group riding to Goa in the night. He just overtook a lorry only to find a big stone in front of him. Went over it and fell down. Lorry which was at the back went over his helmet- AGV. The impact pushed him on to the road. When he was helped out by others, found a large crack on helmet, but not a small bruise or injury to his head. However, he had suffered thigh bone fracture because of fall.

This says, a good helmet may become victim of the crash, but saves the rider from death.

The rider is discussion is now back in action and kept the helmet as souvenir and rememberance of his near death situation.

Please, Please wear a best quality helmet and wear it for sure, be it short or long distance travel

Nice picture, hope this cop is seeing his picture here, which is distant probability. I has seen Sub-Inspector not wearing helmet and talking of the mobile while driving his service pulsar.

I wonder, law enforcers when the break the rules , how can they enforse the rules on aam aadmi.

Aam Aadmi, is least bothered of his safety and his dependents. Who will educate them?

Well i had to travel by train and was travelling to railway station on my bike without wearing a helmet thinking i dont want the hassle of carrying it in the train.
While returning home at almost 12 in the night a decent rider (almost never without helmet) at moderate speed hits a dog (which comes from no where in a nights darkness) and falls and has no idea what happens to him untill he opens his eyes on the bed at evershine nursing home. it was only my face which took a bad beating and i was off from everything else for the next 10 days. With a helmet i would have gone to office the next morning.
Please wear a helmet & more.

Helmets save lives, when properly fitted and worn. I doubt that even the very best would take the weight of a lorry.

A helmet cannot 100% save lives. I have reported an incident on the same thread a few years back where a teen lost her life and she was wearing a helmet. The rear tyre went over the helmet. The helmet was still on and the head was crushed inside. Ideally the rear tyre should have slipped over the helmet.

Helmets are not the ultimate line of defence but do go a long way in saving innumerable lives. Further the helmets themselves are of varying specifications and qualities. Some are mere shells, Majority of the people are still not willing to spend money on a product that meets all of the laid down specifications. One can fathom the quality of helmets being sold like peanuts on roadsides and pavements.

I strongly feel that purchase of two helmets should be made mandatory at the time of sale of a two wheeler. A registration number should not be issued unless the documentation includes those of the two helmets just like insurance documents. At least in Delhi where the registration numbers are issued at the dealer's end this project can be taken up as a pilot and then spread across the country once it is streamlined and successfully implemented.

I really don't want to start a debate, but why do so many people think its right for them to decide what others wear? Let every head decide whether it wants the protection of a helmet and not have one imposed on it.

That said, I myself wear a helmet 95% of the time. But I'd rather not have anybody or the law forcing one down my neck!

Make helmet wearing as a rule for yourself. Do not wear it just because anyone makes it compulsory. Accidents can happen at any point of time. Even if you happen to fall down from your two wheeler moving at 25 kmph still it can hurt and put you off for two weeks - leave alone the pain. An overcoat also helps you from scratches if you happen to fall down.

Drive Speedily ! But safely ! Within Limits! Enjoy your driving !

Every job/role has certain pre-requisites. Take a welder for example. He is expected to wear certain gear, lack of which is hazardous. Can the job be done without wearing the gear? Yes. Is it recommended? No. Why is there a rule? To enforce discipline. Why to enforce discipline? So that the number of accidents are reduced.

There are numerous examples like construction workers, astronauts etc.
