Spotted this scorpio upside down near SAP labs. I have no idea how it flipped to the other side of the divider.

Seems the advert of Mahindra Xylo went a little wayward and made the end of one of their own

Sorry not been able to restrain myself from the lousy humour, however, looks really weird that a heavy beast like scorpio turned on its head by the side of the divider. any theories how events could have unfolded? I suppose SUVs are more susceptible to toppling than others but in the middle of a city appears a little too outrageous if it were in the broad day light!

I think he hit the small divider with one wheel, that wheel went up, and end result is this.
Its actually surprisingly easy to flip SUVs
1. Get into a sideways skid on a slippery road. 40kmph will do
2. hit something hard like a curb or suddenly hit hard ground.
3. Voila, somersault!

+1 to that! This seems to be the most likely happening.

That's extremely scary!!! Especially for people like me who have driven sedan and plan to graduate to an SUV. Will keep it on mind! Thanks TSK.

ABK,

Driving a SUV is a different ball game when compared to driving a sedan. One critical difference is due to a SUV having a higher center of gravity than a sedan. Do doing high speed turns and sudden cuts will not be safe.

(Edit) And this is one common pit fall that most people who graduate from sedan to a suv falls for. Most of the time, it is a sudden realization at some point of a drive with just a shock. Some unfortunate one, sadly, ends up with a crash.

From what I heard was that the driver had leg & neck injuries and the co-passanger had hand fracture. both were rushed to the hospital.

Meaning, both were driving without the seat belt on. With seat belt I am sure they would have walked out with minor cuts / scratches.

At the most minor shoulder/chest bruising, usually caused by dangling up-side down.

Any Delhiites see the bus that drove into the Metro construction area this evening? Around GK/Kailash Colony. The bus was almost perpendicular to the ground! Will be uploading pictures once my card reader decides to work...

what scares me here is the landscape reversal. Backfill is probabaly a better word, not graduation. hehe

Yup, and lack of airbags and other necessary saftey features that a manufacture should be providing.

Does Scorpio comes with Airbags?
Though in this case they might not be much of a use.
He would be doing some good speed to get upside down as the divider doesn't looks 2 big.
