No.

And I'd really be interested in knowing how this happened. Somehow, the divider theory doesn't convince me.

A lot of injuries happen after the accident. People forget how heavy they actually are and the meaning of gravity. So what should you do?

First (assuming you are held by the belt), stretch your legs to the floor (now roof) and stretch your hands to the roof, now the floor. Make your your limbs are holding you in place. Lock one arm and use the other to release belt. move your hand to support your body ASAP. You will feel the wieght transfer to your arms.

Using your arms slowly lever yourself down. Make sure one person does it at a time

Why use Omni as Ambulance?

Here is one i clicked during my ride to Rider mania, this was between karnul and anantpur on hyd - b'lore highway, this guy must have had very shave. But a random thought crossed my mind, usually ambulance' are rashly driven in case of emergency and in india they are using most unsafe car for this purpose Maruti Omni. i think auto act and safty norms should have some rules for ambulance.

IMHO omni is one of the most unsafe vehicle on the indian raods today. wonder why dont they use any better car as ambulance?

EDIT : raj thats the irony! a car that is used to save lives of people is most susceptible to damage.

1) budget constraints
2) no regard for human life/patient comfort in india
3) no stringent rules regarding this in india

When one Omni ambulance meets with an accident, is it another Omni ambulance that comes to take the patients to hospital?
Or has that never been required because there have never been any survivors?!

A quarter of a century since the advent of this vehicle and our government has still not banned its use as an ambulance!

Well the Xylo was a demo car and to see a scorpio upside down was something that he was not expecting.

Those travelling along the ORR (Bangalore) from Sarjapur towards Marathalli would have noticed broken glass strewn along the road opposite Staples. This was as a result of a TCS company bus which rear ended a truck. The whole windshield was shattered. Not sure of any casualities.

Considering how these TCS buses are driven, and the tailgating they do, the above is not at all surprising. I have a pic of the bus, but not a very clear one.

Just clicked these pix between Chennai & Rajamudary, it looked a little absurd that this Indica went so deep into farmland (about 100m I guess).

It would have been hilarious, had it not been so tragic !!!

After the rains in Delhi last night...

Found 3 crashes on my way to work in the morning today. It rained last night and early morning, and there was an overturned tanker on the Nizamuddin Bridge (couldn't get a pic). Another crash, again on the same bridge, of an Indica that skidded under the rear of a container trailer. Wonder what happened to the ruling that needs trucks etc. to install low-level bumpers at the rear to prevent just a thing like this happening. The third was of an 18-wheeler rig which was sitting on the central verge like a train on rails! Wonder how he managed that, and thank God he didn't tip over when that happened.
