re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

City crashed near Moolchand Metro, just outside Gupta Market in Nehru Nagar, Delhi. As per locals, the driver lost control (not speeding) and hit the divider (wall) dividing the underpass and side road. No one was seriously injured.

OT : One thing that is hurting me real bad, and thus I am sharing here. I had clicked the above pictures when the place was nearly empty. After a minute, 3-4 locals gathered. One person, probably the owner, comes running towards the car after 5 odd minutes. He shouts to me "Is this entertainment going on?" to which I say "Sorry" and start walking away. Now this rude guy pushes me physically and says (his exact words) "Is this entertaining? Does the car look so good? I will put your head under the car and crush you to make it more entertaining. Wish I had sandwiched you between the wall and the car, that would have been more fun."

I was shocked, and moved away before I lose my temper. I could understand his situation would have been tense but to what extent will one go to vent his anger? I confess, and please don't bash me for this, that I was happy till about now that his car crashed. Such a terribly rude guy. His words (crush you, sandwich you) hurt me real bad.

Go easy on him. He either obviously loves his car, or is dreading the repair bill, and is stressed out. Different people handle stress differently, and it comes out differently. While it is not a justification for his behaviour, hope this clarifies the reason for it.

Furthermore, while we on TBHP tend to share these photos in a constructive way (although some discussions get out of hand ), there is a culture of 'accident porn' where people like to share such images and gorier ones social media, purely for the sake of gloating over it. He might have thought of that and been annoyed.

Thankfully no damage inside the engine bay.
Looks like the i20, Scorpio and Ritz were tailgating. The fact that your brother managed to stop without hitting means that he had sufficient gap. IMO rear ending is 99% fault of the person behind.

Came across this battered Audi Q5 lying outside a police station. Taken a nasty direct hit on the driver's door. No idea how it happened or if there were any injuries.

Don't worry. He probably got what he deserved. He's probably also not happy that his "great" driving got him into this situation and he found you to be a scapegoat for venting his anger towards himself. Unfortunately, in India, "sorry" is taken as being weak and is taken as a sign to up the aggression ante. Next time, just leave.

Forgive the guy dude ! I don't intend to defend his rude behavior which was bad, but I think his reaction might have been harsh since you started clicking photos. Dont know if you checked if he needed help or assistance to come out of the car. Also given he had just hit his car moments ago, he would be in that state of mind. He might have just vented out his frustration on you.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Not wanting to start a debate over this OT post, but let me make this situation more clear.

1. The car had crashed around 30-45 minutes before I arrived at the scene.

2. That person didn't see me clicking photographs as he came at the scene after 4-5 minutes (after I had kept the phone in my pocket) in an Innova. He just walked towards me (4-5 people were still standing) and made me the target of his frustration.

3. His anger was because of the fact that I was standing (and walking) around the car, and NOT because of clicking pictures.

Anyway, what is done is done. I have nothing to do with that man and maybe, he too would have felt bad after this incident.

I guess it wouldn't serve any purpose to judge someone's actions without having been there. The discussion will lead nowhere. So let's bury the episode and move on.

Saturday evening while driving to Pune I saw a Shivneri which had a badly mangled right side. Not sure if it was the same one involved in an accident which killed a woman.

Was the driver inebriated? That would mean another pun on the word 'Khambaa' ;-)

The second pic shows the headlights are on. Is this the effect of the supercharging?

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

It seems there was a very fatal accident on NICE road. Four bikers involved in an illegal drag race lost their lives. The video is being circulated on Whats app. Anyone has information regarding this ?

Trying to shift weight to the back. Easier said than done, but body weight does play a role in steering your bike.

But tankslapper is bad, very bad. Something like, when in an OTR, if you catch hold of the steering, it might break your hand.

Two videos

On-board & scary.

What is this, auditions for "Transformers: Merc side of the moon"??

One thing though, the front impact, he may have been ok after the crash. I mean, the airbags, the structure would probably have allowed him to be in a state to walk out dizzy, I feel. But that transformer falling, that must have sent him to hospital.
