Cyclist Crashes some where on the NH33

Captured this on my dashcam while on the National Highway 33.
The old man on the cycle really seems to be the culprit & hit his head really hard on the road when he fell. No one was seriously injured & all walked away.

This being a heavy vehicles, busy highway, chaotic highway due to the 4 laning work going on, they must thank there stars that no truck, dumper or 16 wheeler trailer was behind them.

Our highways full of such perils, drive carefully.

This is an Indian Highway my friend.
The reason they are banging into each other is because they can't stop in the distance they have visibility of. Walking back and trying to flag such cars down is even more dangerous than standing close to the wreck.

If anything, I feel, people should move ahead of the wreck beyond the crash guards if possible. But then, that won't give a good angle for the video. Sigh!

The driver seems to be dazed after his head hit the windshield. Someone should have sat him down off the road and offered him some water. he seemed to be more concerned that the tyre could cause an accident (or someone might take it away).

He was lucky he did not have a full load of passengers. Any additional weight at the rear could have resulted in a bad topple and of course more injuries.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Captured this footage on my dashcam of this crashing biker yesterday night.
Construction works were going on without proper markings for sure but the biker has himself to blame as well.
Was riding pretty carelessly. Can clearly see the Honda city guy braking. He probably thought he can zig zag to infront of the city and didn't notice what was in front of him. He was pretty lucky that he didn't hit the standing tractor considering he wasn't wearing a helmet as well.

That biker was all kinds of stupid. Weaving, no helmet, AND important music. If he's lucky, that knock would have shaken his tiny brain to some sense.

Not really sure of getting some sense though. He clearly seems to be convinced that only the construction works are to be blamed by the way he was talking to them.
The problem with most of these guys on bikes in metros these days is that they never realise their mistakes.
Never understand right of way or overtaking at the right spot or from the right lane.

May be the construction workers could have placed some hazard lights but that doesn't make the rider fault free at all. He was more careless than them.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Agreed the motorcyclist was fast, no helmet etc etc. The reason is the construction work happening on a turn with NO WARNING signs and leaving a PVC pipe on road as STOP barrier for lane closed, welcoming an accident.

Cheers guys.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

There was an accident on the Mumbai Pune Expressway yesterday in which 3 people died on the spot when their car rammed into a water tanker. I passed by the accident scene probably minutes after the accident took place and the rescue operation was on. It was an SCross and either did not have air bags or they did not deploy. It is extremely tragic to lose family members this way.

I routinely see hatchbacks and mid size cars/SUVs over speeding on the expressway when it is a known fact that most of these cars are not safe. Please understand the limitations of your vehicles and don't put yourself or others at risk. Drive safe.

So if he was not weaving, with an helmet and still would have fallen down, whose fault would it be?

Clearly, the biker doesn't have much riding sense. Doesn't mean it's ok to put things in the middle of the road, without any warning.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Got this as a whatsapp forward, all credits to the original photographer.

Happened near Wipro Circle, Nanakramguda, Hyderabad. Apparently Crane smashed into the car (or vice versa) and cut through the car. Passengers were injured is what i am told.

There is construction work going on this stretch for past few weeks and i have seen people weaving in an out between construction equipment on this stretch. That said, i do not know what happened in this accident so can't comment. Scary though.

He fell after hitting the pipe that was across the road as pointed out. It seems to be at a curve. The biker however was not really alert and his riding style seems to show a lack of anticipation.

Doing road work without proper warning ahead is also not very acceptable.

The motorcyclist assumed the pipe to be a version of some soft pipe and ride over it and met his fate.
As we all know, assumption is the mother .............
In motorcycling you never assume, you be prepared for obstacles, and in India you scan 50 meters ahead as well as behind, and keep that escape route ready.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Do not understand what point people try to make when they drive their car being inebriated. Sadly another auto driver lost his life due to this idiotic college kid. This has happened in the same spot where the Porsche Boxter crashed into a line of Autos.

Quoting from the article:
Quote:
An autorickshaw driver was killed and four others injured after a car rammed a line of parked autos on Chennai’s Cathedral Road, early on Sunday morning. The car, with a VIP number, was driven by a college student, who was reportedly in an inebriated state.

This is the second time that such an accident has occurred in the area, with another auto driver killed in the same manner at a nearby spot in September last year.

At around 2am on Sunday morning, a line of around 20 autos were standing parked on the side of the road near Stella Maris College, when a speeding Chevrolet Cruz car rammed six of them. One of the drivers, 33-year-old Rajesh hailing from Arakonam, was sleeping inside his auto, and was killed in the impact...

You're trying to imagine a Utopian road. On Indian roads, the SOP is defensive driving. Something that I dont see in a majority of two wheeler drivers in India, as well as most car drivers. This monkey is definitely not going to get any sympathy, especially since he has ensured that he is going to get boinked on his head, will not hear anybody honking around him, AND by screaming at the people around him.

Man that's super scary. That car looks like a half cut car model put up for display of the internals. Its good to hear that there were no casualties.
