How is it even possible to stuff 6 cows, that too in an Ecosport. I don’t understand the logic of littering a car with cow dung rather than calling a mini truck to transport these animals.

Most probably, they were trafficking dead cattle for meat consumption because it is highly unlikely that livestock can be stuffed like that if they were alive in the first place.

They must have been transporting dead cows. Transporting 6 cows alive in an eco sport would seem physically impossible. Even if they did, they would kick each other and the driver to death.

6 cows, right? I had the same doubts as well, but the comments on the facebook thread of the same were somewhat convincing. There was also a video of people pulling out the carcasses from the vehicle (which can be seen in the pictures above). I cannot vouch any further on the authenticity of this report though.

As for using an SUV - probably to avoid attracting suspicion towards their illegal trafficking of meat.

Probably that is what happened and the car ended up like that.

And people say the back seat of the Ecosport is a tight fit for 2 humans !!

I am assuming that the cattle were drugged and sedated before stuffing them into the car. They probably woke up earlier than expected and caused the accident.

Say an average weight of a cow is around 800 kgs. that is close to 5 tons of cow in a car that weighs around 1.2 tons.

That is a total goner in regards to the dynamics of a car. Alive or dead, kicking or not, unless the driver was crawling , an 'accident' is inevitable.

Littering aside but I do recollect few of these instances where the cattle could easily get accommodated in cars one can't easily imagine:

these look like sub-adults or a smaller breed. Lets say 400 kgs. Even then, its 2.4 tons in a 1.2 ton car, probably at the limit of the safety factor incorporated into the axles.

5 tons, im sure, would be beyond any safety factor and straightaway break the axle even before the car took off.

Great to read that nothing worse happened to anyone involved & you moved away without any issue. Thankfully you have video evidences as well for your safety, if someone wanted to be extra smart.

I learned driving from drivers of different ages. One of them was around 55+. Uncle taught me one thing: if there are animals (any) straying on the road, change your direction & drive around them via their backsides not from the front/face. They can panic & can rush forward. They never walk backwards. Having said that be extra cautious with Dogs & pigs. They are very agile & change directions suddenly. Pigs do real harm & walk away. Dog suffers himself & causes damage to us as well.

However if there are humans (on foot or an any vehicle), better slow down & let them decide which way they want to go; they can change directions in all 10 directions/ . So no matter how cautious you are anything can happen with two legged animals on road. Perils of evolution.

That is literally incredible. Don't Indian bovines know how to kick?.

Was always taught, as a child in rural England, never to get behind a cow or a horse. Now I know I can stuff one into the back of my car with impunity!

Extremely fortunate not to have any fatalities considering the fire that completely destroyed the two heavy vehicles.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Fatal accident involving a local Swift and a Fortuner (reportedly from MH) occurred in Goa today. 3 fatalities from the Swift. Other occupants of both the vehicles are admitted in hospital.

Photos of the accident site indicate that the Fortuner is on the other lane. It appears that it was overtaking (not allowed on the bridge where the accident occurred). Furious locals present at the site set the Fortuner on fire.

IMO setting the car on fire provides the culprit an opportunity to go scott free as much of the evidence is wiped out. Also he gets to claim total loss insurance.
