Let me take the theory further. The hydraulic ram that raises the dumper is a one way ram. If its pressurized, it extends and to lower it, the pressure is released and the weight of the bucket pushes down the ram. Compared to this, the bulldozers and loaders come with two way rams which can be operated by pressure both ways. It is very common in agricultural tractors that once the dumping is done, the bucket takes a while to come down to its resting position. Similarly, here the bucket would have partially come down and the driver would have negligently driven off without checking if the bucket was completely down. He doesnt even seem to have closed the hydraulic valve after this. Hence when the bucket hit the sign board, it got pulled back and extended the ram since it could take back the fluid. After the complete ram extended it would have lifted up the truck since most of the weight of the truck was already in the back of the truck. If the valve was closed, the bucket wouldn't have extended and would have ripped off the signboard.

Leaving all the explanation aside,
  • Looks like these people are at heights of carelessness and 'chalega' attitude in multiple counts
  • People just dont know how to use such machines though the machines are becoming more and more complex by the day
  • The commuters around this truck were extremely lucky, else had the truck tipped over to its sides then innocent lives would have been lost
  • The next time you are around such a truck, ensure that the bucket is not usually placed. If yes then keep away from such a truck.

Looks like he did not wear seatbelts. The cabin looks intact and the passenger would have survived with seat belts

Looks like it. Or something penetrated through the windshield and fatally hit the driver. His wife seems to have survived.

On a side note, poor writing by the reporter. He's mentioned "The deceased parents who.." instead of "Parents of the deceased..."

Harrier has a bad high speed steering even though its hydraulic "I had to double check this because I could swear its electric". It has non of that hydraulic feel to it wonder how Tata manage to get rid of that.

Side Note: That Hector has similar dead steering feel.

Then it means both the companies have done extensive research of Indian market, thus one can be assured that both these vehicles gonna make place in the list of long term popular vehicles in India.

Thats what an average Indian likes - 'gadget on wheels'.
Thats what these companies are giving to them.

Ah, yes! I didn't even really know what trigonometry was until I was about thirty and started sailing --- and discovered that its formula can be useful in navigation.

I don't think I ever needed it for driving, though.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Saw this huge truck turned turtle on the NH544 coming back from Palakkad yesterday around 3 pm, there was just enough passage for a bus to squeeze through, so the road was not blocked. I don’t think there was any casualty, probably the driver nodded off.

Scary, to think that you can get into accident for not a fault of yours.

If the rider was going slower, he/she could have avoided this collision. One has to be aware of such morons in India.
