Dreadful. And so stupid to even think of getting away with it

Just curious: why is the video coverage narrated by a machine. With an American accent too!

I suspect what must happened was this - The driver thought that if he were to speed up, the cop could get scared and move out of the the way leaving him (the driver) with lesser hassles to deal with - I have seen this happen Bangalore roads (a lot). I guess it must be the same in Punjab as well.

The cops, however, literally put their life/lives on the line even if there are safer alternatives to penalize errant drivers. You can many a times see the cops jumping directly in the way of oncoming traffic to catch some drives!

At the end, it is stupid both of such cops and the drivers! Both could have been lot safer by putting that box over their shoulders to better use!

You are right: I don't suppose the guy had done anything worth risking a cop's life over.

They should have better equipment and or better methodology to stop suspects. Still, I hope that guy gets the full force of the law applied. I suspect that he's already felt the full force of a cop or two (he gets a gentle slap around the head in the video) and, honestly, I'm not sorry for him if he does.

So, will the gent at the end go into lockup for drinking and driving under lockdown?
"badum - tss!! "

But honestly, that man was so totally sloshed, and surprisingly in one piece even though it's Faridabad?

Happened in sector-8 Faridabad. Friend who sent me this clip earlier stated he was arrested. Can't believe during the lockdown we still get such idiot drunk drivers.

Luckily he was not under that heavy bike. Helmets should be made mandatory while unloading the two wheelers from the truck.

Off topic - unfortunately this bike will be sold as a brand new to a customer post repair work

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

That looks so doomed to me that I wonder if the guy has any previous experience of unloading a bike.

Does anyone here know how it should have been done?

I think they usually have hydraulic assisted door which can be used as platform.

I should have thought of that! I've seen stuff like washing machines delivered on such a platform. Thanks for the videos: bikes being delivered with care and proper handling.

The featured disaster delivery guy attempted to use what looked like a ladder, not a ramp, at a very steep angle, with no width and no room to put feet down.

I am absolutely not a biker, not even a cyclist, so correct me if I am wrong!

Me neither. May be the unloading - rider was new and rest of them didn't know it.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Another fatal, freak accident during the lockdown.

A CovidWarrior met with a freak accident in April 2020. A dog crossed 42-yr-old home guard Satyanand's path while he was on his way back home. Here's the CCTV footage from Lal Darwaza, Hyderabad. Satyanand was a Rakshak vehicle driver.
I can't make out if he was wearing a helmet. He was apparently taken to hospital with injuries and then succumbed the next day - April 27th.

Have seen many bikes being unloaded like this, that too by the loading/unloading union workers of Kerala. Those chaps might even protest vehemently against any sort of hydraulic platform!
