It looks like a flyover, he should have merged the flyover through exit. These are very common in Chennai, where to avoid U turns in busy roads, I have seen Autos, bikes, even mini vans to opt wrong way.

Only if the rules are stricter in India, we can expect some sort of discipline with citizens.

According to Rushlane reports, the dealership asked the owner to get the pillars replaced. Is it possible? Wouldn't it affect the structural integrity & overall build quality?

Replace the pillar/Beam? Isnt that a job that even the factory cannot guarantee? There was something similar that happened with a mahindra some years back on the forum, something to do with welds. I dont think a replacement will be a wise choice, but may have to be done.

By the by, that was most headache inducing video I have ever seen.

This being a body on chassis construction (not a monocoque), guess it should be still doable. A monocoque set up could have compromised the overall strength IMO.

I live down one such road and it is always a challenge to watch out for idiot scooterists and bikers who do this wrong side turn.

In fact not just scooterists and bikers, I was driving my Scorpio along the road to take a turn and saw an Endeavour turning into the road from the wrong side so he was nearly head on to me. Luckily we both braked in time.

I guess the idiot must have got a car license and an Endeavour after learning on a Dio.

Tragic accident from Hisar. As per the report, cops had earlier claimed that the biker hit an electricity pole and termed it as accidental death.

Quote:
A day after an alleged accidental death of a youth, CCTV footage revealed that the victim died after a PCR chasing him ran him over on the Jind road in Hansi town of the district.
The incident occurred yesterday evening when the victim identified as Ravinder, a resident of Gaganheri village, was chased by the PCR.
The footage showed that the youth fell on the ground from his motorcycle and the PCR ran over him.
He died on the spot as one of the cops watched him lying on the road.

Right from the beginning, the rider was struggling to maintain balance on his two-wheeler. He was hoping on riding behind the van to enter the main road. He couldn't. He had to enter the main road on his own and didn't complete it.

Driving is essentially getting two tasks right:
1) Controlling one's vehicle (hold over the accelerator, brake, steering & balance in case of 2 wheelers)
2) Communicating with other road users. (wait or go, on who should first)

Both failed here.

The one good thing i did notice in this is how the person from the Car didn't try to run away and had infact walked to check in on the man first and then, goes to provide help to the woman who fell down.

Nothing will happen!

Oh wait, it did.

The wrong-side driving was stupid, but the accident was really the result of just not looking.

Gosh this is absolutely terrible and boils my blood like nothing else 99% of drivers/riders do not know how to share the road with other road users and this includes our cops. Something desperately needs to be done about improving our licensing norms before we slap 40 and 60kmph speed limits everywhere. Cops definitely need to be given a special course in how to drive. I hope that the driver of the Gypsy and every single individual that colluded to come up with the nonsense story of the victim hitting an electric pole and dying, get the justice that they deserve although simply going through the reactions on this thread vs the accident from Kerala, I doubt our nation will come up with any concrete answers to this case.

Even kids riding cycles in apartment complexes ride better. There was hardly any traffic!.

God has to ride with him on Bangalore's roads (in normal times).

Best example of, when I am coming, I expect you to stop. At 0.52 or at least 0.54, he could have stopped and let the car to pass. Whether it's car of bike, I always prefer waiting extra 30 secs for the other vehicle to pass. It is better to be late, than been called as late.

What's with all these cars falling into water recently. One more incident in Dibrugarh in Assam. The Dzire apparently 'slipped' on wet, muddy roads. Don't have any more details.
The water appears shallow and car is close to the banks of this river. Locals do well in rescuing the passengers. Doesn't look like there were any casualties.
