Similar incidents do happen every other day on Richmond Circle flyover in Bangalore. The ramp from double road to Residency road is just about 150 metres in length. but 2 wheelers will be restless to overtake, even wider Cars. Car drivers can't take their eyes off, since the ramp is very narrow and also curved. So, obviously they can't look into side mirrors, except for rear view mirror inside the Car. That creates a blind spot.

With hardly 2-3 feet space, 2 wheelers sneak in and many a times, had to hard brake. They are not even scared that, they could fall to the ground from the flyover. And the 2 wheelers expect the Car drivers to drive like a train on tracks. No room for even 6 inches on either side.

In the above case, the flyover is wide enough for 2 cars, but the Kia driver might've ignored to look into left side mirror. So, both are equally at fault.

KIA's have fantastic senors but in a older vehicle that would be in the blind spot.

On these type of city roads the norm is that bikers stick to the left and cars on the right. Given that I wouldn't blame the scooterist for just sticking to his lane. It isn't like he was to the right of the Kia and suddenly moved to the left to overtake.

The Kia driver on the other hand...

Overtaking on the left immediately puts the overtaker at fault. For our own protection, yes, we should check before moving left, but still, the overtaker, unless they have a whole lane to themselves, should not be there. Especially when they are going for a gap that barely exists at all.

This is not about narrow roads. This is because the brown truck did not maintain a 3 second gap and was distracted. Instead of the bus pulling out there could have been a parked vehicle but the outcome would be the same.

No excuse for rear ending due to being distracted

The gentleman is lucky he had a helmet camera or he would have been blamed for the incident.
Surprising how the scooty fell in that manner.

This is the most funny thing I have seen in ages.. The accident was self-inflicted by the scooty rider, however, he didn't expect that he will lose control!
College couple and borrowed friend's scooty!
I am looking forward to some funny stand up comic meme on this one.

Looks an old scooter without combi braking which is quite common nowadays. The scooter rider locks up the rear wheel with brakes and the passenger gets incensed on an innocent rider behind. Funny. I’d have loved to see her reaction seeing the video of the incident.

I normally am very scared in visiting this thread just for the fact that it has so many reportings of so many horrific accidents. But must say, this is funny. I can imagine ‘Didi’ not realising that they fell on their own, but how come the one who is driving is so confused. He is the one who first says ‘bina maare kaise gir gaye

Racing on public road goes wrong.

5:30 pm. There would be considerable traffic at that time. The Left side of the road is unused or is under repairs? Racing on city roads itself is wrong and these guys chose the wrong timing as well as wrong road.

It's better to build racing tracks in every major city, so that young enthusiasts can try their skills in a controlled and safe environment and without endangering others lives. The craze of speeding will be short-lived once the experience it.

R I P. Sorry for their near and dear ones.

..
The helmet mounted camera prevented the biker to face any unnecessary ordeal post this incident.

Ironically, helmet mounted cameras have been announced as illegal in some states like Kerala.
Hope such rules are overruled.
The MV act should be the standard reference and all rules should be uniform across all states to avoid any confusion.
Every rule in our country should be standardized.

This part of NH66 south of Trivandrum still remains not fully opened to vehicular traffic. And that is why this is a favorite spot for the so called racers.

If both colliding bikes were racing how did they approach each other from oppsite direction? Either one fellow was an innocent victim, or two different groups were racing in opposite directions?

They were attempting a high speed opposite direction drive bye. (As seen in air shows - picture attached for reference)

Five bikes were involved with one of them doing the filming of the stunt, while pair of bikes each were speeding in the opposite direction to perform the stunt. One set of bikes travelling in the opposite direction had a head-on collision.

And all of this is for some "like share and follow" on Instagram! So sad what the youth has gotten into.

When I open Insta, I see hundreds of such videos where squids like these are going through heavy traffic at high speed. The comments on such videos are even more worrisome.

Such instances have happened in Kerala in the past as well, yet, these kids seem to have learnt nothing from others who wasted their life.
