Interestingly, for similar cases involving other brands, our very own forum and other media outlets made a significant uproar!
Referring to this post, I think?

There were quite a few feature updates to several models across brands in April 2023 around the time BS6.2 and RDE norms went into effect (1 April 2023), and this BHPian seems to have a got a car from a batch just before (post says he got a March manufactured piece allotted in April). Very likely a case of a car manufactured to a prior spec, rather than a case of 'cunning removal of advertised specs'.

Nothing a PDI wouldn't catch either way, as it's a 'visible' and easily verifiable feature in the cabin, as he says himself. T-BHP always recommends a rigorous PDI to ensure one is getting the car (and specification) one paid for.

As to highlighting cases, we have a robust reporting mechanism in place, and a lot of our highlighted material (homepage, news, new threads etc.) comes from BHPians bringing things to our attention. In fact, every thread created via a BHPian report contains an admin note for BHPians to report stuff they consider worth highlighting for our review.

All it takes is a reported post from a BHPian to get the moderator group's attention, who then validate the facts and highlight as appropriate. Easier to do it, rather than wondering/speculating why nobody else did it.

P.S. I noticed you thanked the post in question, but I couldn't locate a reported post from yourself highlighting it to the mods. Excuse me for sounding like a YouTuber but in the future, kindly hit that 'report post' button.

Rather than having an Independence Day celebrated by driving in a rash manner with higher exhaust notes I woke up late, ate chicken with Maggi and read Orwell's 1984. Hope I will be considered a patriot.

Happened at Worli, Mumbai - a huge iron rod fell on a biker and on the Tata Van from a high rise. The biker has been injured and hospitalised.

Jimny got hit by a pick up truck and toppled. Truck doesn't show much damage. Initial videos showed the roof torn off, but this news report clarifies that it was done to rescue the occupants. Forwards said one dead, the news says 1 grievously injured and another 6 admitted

7 people in a Jimny is a sure shot recipe for disaster if it's true. And driving a Jimny like a regular vehicle will definitely add to that disaster. Appears like someone was thrown out of the car.

Sad, according to the following video driver passed away at the spot while 3 passengers were severely injured. There's an urgent need for significant improvements in India regarding driving etiquette and raising awareness about safety. Additionally, influencers should refrain from downplaying the significance of safety purely for the purpose of shamelessly promoting unsafe brands.

The car toppling so easily is a severe safety concern, injuries might have been less if it doesn't topple that easily.

First few seconds are nonsense, one can skip to 0:55 for actual video.

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Can we stop posting the rehashed Prateek Singh's videos? He just picks accident videos from news channels, public posted videos etc. and adds his own logo and his 'analysis' and puts it out and earns views. I rarely see any exclusive videos or anything of that kind from him. Best case, he is an aggregating middle man, worst case he is a leech making money out of other people's content.

Yes Please!

But it might take enforcement from the moderators, so it's down to how the team feels about it. I guess it doesn't break any rules

Why? He might get a few extra views, that’s ok, but it could still invoke caution among many readers.

Good day,

I would like to share information about an accident involving a brand new Maruti Jimny, a Mahindra Bolero Pick Up and a two-wheeler. The accident took place on 18th of Aug 2023, around 20:00 hrs at Kozhikode, Kerala.

As per the initial information available, the accident left one dead and another one seriously injured - both passengers of Jimny. Five other people are being treated for injuries. Occupants include five in Jimny, the driver of the Bolero and the person on a two-wheeler.

Though unverified, it seems the Jimny has been delivered just a day before.

Hope this information might be helpful to Team BHP.

Not just toppling, the roof and two doors were peeled off like of banana and stuck on bolero. What a ridiculous construction is this?

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Not sure why it is expected that the Jimny should survive relatively undamaged and stay planted after a loaded Bolero weighing 2X the Jimny crashes into it at high speed at an odd angle at a curve…

Adding few pics from a WhatsApp forward (as I cannot upload the full video) of the jimny getting towed out of the crash location. It seems like the car might have hit the pick-up after toppling to one side. The condition of the car suggest it to be written off as a total loss by the insurance teams.

Please see the photos thoroughly. The bolero isn’t any fully loaded and it isn’t a head on crash. The cargo rail is the one that took the doors and roof of Jimmy like you open up a coke (tin) can.
