Axe77 has literally said everything I wanted to. One addition - the burbles and crackles of the exhaust distracted him for sure.

Earlier I used to be taken aback, but it doesnt bother me one bit in the least, as it only means clearance of the bad gene pool, like shumi says in the PD 2019 podcast about helmets. Plenty of videos like this with the usual elements - RC200, MT15, Duke 200 or in some cases a Z900 crashing like this with some ridiculous autotune hindi song playing in the background and the comments? laughter, feel sorry for the bike, and sarcastic comments asking if the aggressor was dead and sympathizing with the aggressee.

Looking at the Nano and its passenger compartment you would have been ok, except for whiplash injury maybe. Nano seems to have taken the impact quite well, it helped that it was not a direct impact but a partial one.

The Vlogger's YouTube channel name is oldschoolTV and he has more than 1.14 Lakh subscribers.

Imagine the influence he is imparting on his Lakh+ subscribers with this irresponsible high speed riding culminating in an absolutely horrible accident and language he is using during the ensuing collision. No wonder, today's aspirational and impressionist young follow these youtubers and add to the road accident statistics.

The rider was riding at very high speed.

He fixated on the target when he should have counter steered and try to veer away from the rear side of the crossing bike.

Instead of swearing, he should have been focusing on his riding.

The rider was more concerned about his motorcycle than the other riders who had fallen flat on the road. That's lack of empathy there

And the 4 wheelers, just passed without bothering much to stop and help as they must have felt, the rider got his Karma.

I could read from the registration plate of the motorcycle that the incident probably hppened in UP, the state that has the maximum number of accidents in India and we know why it's so.

A couple of senseless riders and an accident. It's sheer providence that they appear to walk away with minor injury. Hope some lessons are learnt.

There's a sign board visible in the early part of the video that says 55 km to Hathras and 4 km to Gokul (Dham). That puts the location in or around Mathura city.

This was scarry! Little shocking to me that you could drive the car in that state given the damages. Quite a risky affair, isn't it?

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Sad to see a Kwid getting rear-ended by a Rickshaw on the highway last evening at 1.15 sec mark.

I myself narrowly escaped hitting the car ahead at 1.15 sec mark

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Reams of print have been spent on the accident epidemic in India. We need a similar campaign to Swacch Bharat Mission. This needs to be driven top down by the PM Office. Results will take time as there are multiple systemic issues. Faulty road-engineering, corruption in issuing permits /licenses, slack compliance all lead to indisciplined behaviour without any fear. Penalties and strict implementation, sensitisation at school levels can eventually change behaviour.

Our nation is facing a criminal epidemic.

There was no damage to the parts that could have contributed to any potential accidents or dangerous, the brakes were working, the control arm was slightly bent but was hammered to its correct position, engine, radiator, intercooler, cooling system had no damage as well, the damage in my post seems amplified but to be honest this can termed purely cosmetic.

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

I was coming out of MRF Tyredrome, Kaloor, Kochi, after wheel alignment of my car, when this was caught in my dashcam.

The red Mahindra XUV 300 was on the right lane, and the driver slowed down for the right turn, and this bike rider just rode straight into his rear. Looks like his head hit the road as he fell - his helmet was in place, but he was clutching his head and could not stand up. I left after a couple of minutes as traffic was piling up, without realizing that the accident was captured on my dashcam. Hope the bike rider is okay, and that car driver was not penalized - would like to send him the footage, but not sure how to get his contact, though I have the car's registration number.

as you stated, no issue of car driver whatsoever. He din appear speeding nor braked suddenly. For some reason the biker was distracted or his mind froze/slept off or some other reason, he just did not react and banged. Lucky he hit a stationary car and did not bang into on coming traffic elsewhere.

Car driver was more worried about damage to his car than checking if biker was OK

Of all the people that rushed to “help” him, I doubt anyone knows to actually not move someone in that condition. The severity of the crash becomes tenfold when people move someone injured in a manner involving their necks/backs, in an attempt to help them. EMTs are specially trained to do this and in moving a person with an injured back or neck you’re actually increasing the risk of death. There needs to be posters or instruction boards telling people to cordon of that area and call an ambulance if they want to help, not BE the ambulance no one needs especially in cases where the victim does not seem to be moving despite no visible injuries.

First I saw something flying off like a projectile, thought it was his unbuckled helmet, but then closely watching, it seems to be his shoes getting flung off.

Also, something is seriously wrong with the rider, either he’s super distracted or sleepy or high on something. All through the time till crash happened he never tried to slow down, when the car in front gradually slowed down. And also just the moment before crash was going to happen, he wasn’t in a position to save himself, rather was still going straight holding the handle, while still sitting on the saddle. I guess in that situation anyone would try to save himself and protect his head with his hands/arms, kind of brace himself for the impact or try to roll the body during the impact. Looks like car was invisible to him. See the last minute screen grab.

Hope he is fine. There's a slight curve just before this U turn. And definitely, the biker didn't pay attention to the car.

If you are really planning to help the car driver, maybe you can get in touch with the Mahindra showroom/service station, share the incident and give your contact details with them. In case the car owner get the repair done from any of the service stations, he will be able to contact you. After all, not many Mahindra service stations here. If the car is Kochi registered, even better.
