In the end he realises he must back up and make way. Just as he does so, Mr Entitled, who thinks that other traffic will vapourise to make way for him, comes on wrong side because members of the Entitled family never have to do stuff like wait their turn in a queue.

Result: damage to two, maybe three, vehicles and one scooty. And one wall. I hope the Scooty guy didn't get injured. I hope Mr Entitled has a big bill!

All because one driver has no patience or respect for others. I would describe him (I assume) in words that the forum rules wouldn't allow.

(I wonder how long the road was blocked)

I don't know how to react. Will never be able to understand or accept what happened there. One of my friend mentioned few days back in some other context that to understand a society, observe the behavior and actions on roads

I'm not so sure that's what happened. It seems the guy lost control/ pressed accelerator instead of brake or some other mis-calculation.

There is no doubt that this car is at fault, but I doubt it was trying to just pass at that speed out of impatience.

Maybe. Looking again at the video, I notice that the windscreen wipers are on even before the collision. Could it even be someone who has no idea whatsoever how to drive a car? In that case, they probably would not have brought off the steering into the right-hand lane.

Yes: there is a degree of mystery. Sadly, as I'm guessing that this is a found video, we'll never know. Unless another member knows the locality and the event.

I wish we could find out!

PS. I can see "HP" on the rear number plate of the white car.

A shocking video of a car ploughing into a hotel at high-speed resulting in 1 person's death in UP. The driver apparently fled the scene.

A person somehow ended up under a reversing car. I didn't see how it happened, but it looked intense.

Doesn’t look like being hit by the reversing car, I think the blue one hit or pushed him and with impact he slipped down there. That’s why the blue car is seen stopping ahead. I may be wrong.

But all in all it shows how crazy it is to drive in India, wrong parking in one lane, no signs, no pedestrian crossing, no walkways, just shows a complete pandemonium !!

Solution - drive very slowly, keep praying nothing untoward happens and ride your luck.

Giving no bounds for imagination - Could it be possible that the car had already hit something on the way (quite possible looking at the way it appeared at the spot), setting the wipers off? Couldn't make out if the hazard lights were also on though, anyway they don't seem to be on after the final impact either. Possibly could have been somebody trying to escape police or goons?

In our childhood we used to think that if we close our eyes the monster will not see us, which translates to - If I don't see any danger, then the danger is not there.

Unfortunately, this is what many drivers tend to do on the road as well. They think that if they don't see any oncoming vehicle (due to the curved road), then there is no oncoming vehicle.

Could be, yes, although I think (don't know) that it takes more than a minor bump to set of that kind of electrical confusion.

Unlicensed, uninsured, inexperienced (underage?) driver... could be running away, even from something minor. We don't even need the goons!

Doesn't look like anyone here has knowledge of the event. We'll just have to use our imaginations!

As ever, though, really unfortunate for the innocent drivers/rider who turned into his target.

Re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

An unfortunate accident happened, to me, due to the cattle menace in our roads.

I was riding my bike back from office at around 10 PM on 20th June, when suddenly a big cow crossed the road.

Combination of darkness due to the poorly lit road and my poorly lit bike's headlight, resulted in a crash on to the cow.

It was an interior road near to my home and I was riding around 30-35 Kmph, but due to the sudden appearance of the cow, couldn't even brake and just crashed on to the cow.

Luckily though, I was thrown out in air but landed on top of the cow which was already down on the road, resulting in few minor bruises and scratches.

The bike front side almost totaled and left the bike parked in the road side and went home with my co-brother picking me up in his car.

Went to a nearby hospital and got an injection for precaution and some tablets for the pain and I am alright in 2-3 days.

Pics taken the next day morning, when got a FNG mechanic to tow the bike to his garage.

This practice of overtaking on a blind curve is so prevalent on our roads/highways.
It is likely that this driver had done numerous such overtakes in the past without harm and his luck finally ran-out.
