Saw one red punto at Indira Nagar 12th main-100 feet road junction @2 AM today. It was hit by another car which I could not see. I stopped and enquired to few cab drivers around, they said occupants are safe, saw few cops also. Punto front was damaged pretty badly.

Bus carrying 50 or more passengers skids off the road and falls into meenachil river. ten have escaped. Remaing missing. Bus completly submerged, rescue efforts stalled, as the crane needed to lift the bus hasnt arrived yet.

The bus was operated by PTS and was running between Cherthala and Kottayam.

Escaped passengers say it hit a post and then fell into the river.

It seems 9 are confirmed dead. The driver has escaped. 80% of the bus has been lifted - the river was deep at this point, and the bus seems to have hit the slush below and got stuck up.

About 30 passengers are still missing - they are feared stuck in the slush below, and rescuers have confirmed that no body are stuck inside the bus. There is uncertainty over the number of passengers actually traveling in the bus - and there are contradictory reports on the number.

Spotted this santro parked in a petrol pump in Dec'09 however i think it was fixed because i don't see it there anymore.

This morning at 9:40 I saw 4 vehicles caught up in an accident in front of Command Hospital, on BLR HAL Airport Road.

Two Altos in front on the two lanes. Both were rear ended by two Indicabs behind them on the two lanes. And one of the Indicab has hit the driver side door of Alto on the other lane as well.

My guess is that the Altos hard braked to avoid a pedestrian. And the Indicabs could not brake in time.

Just reinforces my fear of seeing a Indicab on the rear view mirror. Whenever I see one, I try my best to give way.

Saw that bus accident news yesterday, tragic!

Another road accident on Miyapur-Gachibowli-Nanakramguda stretch,

Heard from a colleague, This happened near Microsoft Gachibowli (opposite Boulder Hill) a couple on a bike were travelling on the extreme right (following the divider), some car hit them from behind, both the pillion and the rider fell on the road. Since the rider had not put on the helmet strap, during the fall the helmet came off and the guy died, the lady (pillion) was injured badly. Surprisingly people gathered but no one called 108, a colleague of my company was passing by, he stopped and called 108 for ambulance.

I have been in Hyderabad for around 1.5 years now, have seen accidents almost daily, no wonder in a recent survey AP was on the top of the list for road deaths.

People ride in a zig zag manner, no helmets, helmets with strap not buckled up, etc.

Guys please, think of your family (I am writing this here because, seen many educated IT guys doing all this, I hope many are silent watchers here)

I used to live there, now i don't. I live in kerala now. Anyways my parents still live there, next time i am in delhi i will ping you.

BTW saw a safari yesterday being towed away, looked exactly like the pajero in the earlier page, looks like a rollover, Sorry no pics, however i thing i fail to understand, how can a vehicle rollover on the drivers side and the passenges side be still intact and sctrachless?
