re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

The correct thing to do is for Parents to sternly warn the driver never to give the keys to kids else he will lose his job immediately - all in front of the kids.
I can think of no better way. Beyond that it is morally the drivers fault if he still does so!

A few rounds of hospital morgues looking at accident victims will also drive the lesson home.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Today it seems that there was an accident on the BETL road. Time around 8 PM. It was on the road going towards the Silk Board.

Any info?

While returning found that they were not allowing anyone from Electronic city side to go to Silkboard via BETL.

Why does the last line in report read "a resident has launched a complaint" on whom? and for what? Don't the Police have powers to file a complaint on their own?

For the case to go to the court of law, someone has to complain. I guess police cannot act as witness or something like that. So for police to pursue a case there should be some one complaining against it!

Sat this Fortuner yesterday near Kala Gram lights.

Dunno what happened, I did not see any cycle/rickshaw/2-wheeler involved in the accident.
The accident just happened a minute ago when I was passing.

+1 to that. Might be that the front right tire burst and hence the car veered right and hit the median.

I saw a NHC burn in front of Powai Lake on sunday at around 1930. The whole car was a ball of fire till the B pillar - behind that nothing.

I hope there were no casualties.

Could be a slow drift into the median when the driver was not paying attention leading to a tyre burst. Some sort of rumble strip should be there when there is a median to avoid such cases. Nothing of the sort is seen on this road

For someone who takes home in a month what the car guzzles in a week or lesser time, it is a question of survival in these times not one of morality.

If anyone is responsible morally or otherwise it is the parents.

The only way to tackle such scenarios is to ensure very strict adherence to and compliance of traffic rules AND to make traffic rules and safety regulations an integral part of primary education. It will take time but within a few years the behavioral change will be there for all to see.
