re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Both the incidents involving bikes are absolutely the fault of the bikers. Our roads are a chaos and the bigger vehicle is always to be blamed but with the increasing availability of video evidence its clear that most of these accidents could be avoided if other vehicles were more defensive or careful but the evidence also shows that the bikes were the catalyst.

In case of ambulance I don't think the driver was trying to over take the bike but was trying to avoid the bike. Normal human response is to avoid the first obstacle be it a bike or an animal, the result of which can be seen in the video.

In a country where heavy vehicle drivers doing cross country in loaded trucks don't even give a driving test, it is too much to expect a trained professional driving an ambulance who is usually working 12 hr duties with average pay.

Regarding the Figo driver, I would have slowed down on seeing the ambulance and moved left at the first opportunity.

Loose translation of the song playing in the figo - It starts with a line "I am in trouble/I am screwd"

I also noticed but then I thought it was added to the video later to suit the situation. Now realising it could be the live audio and surprisingly what a coincidence. Also doesn't look like the dash cam footage, strange that someone was shooting exactly at that time.

What a way to waste your life, such a young chap too. I feel bad for his parents and close ones. We just saw a very similar incident maybe 1-2 pages back. Eerily similar, came in at high speed and hit a pole.

I don't get the attitude of no helmet riders. Wishing no one gets to go through something like this ever again.

I agree, it seems like a passenger was recording the video on a mobile phone. At the beginning of the video, you can even hear the mobile phone vibrate. Makes me wonder if this made the driver drive at a higher speed?

I didn't watch this video (how much death and suffering can we see!) but even the video title made me wonder if it was supposed to be some sort of entertainment. Bad taste.

This one is an old wine in a new bottle. Come rains and images and videos of waterfalls, landslides and accidents emerge all over the internet in various packaging with the same content and some new taglines.

Clear case of aquaplane, the driver was very lucky to have not collided head on with bus.

Like in UAE, we should be made to toil hard before we get a license. It irks to see we fail in basics like these.

Lol you had to say it and the next post by @vvivek85 is of a 2 year old video that probably would have been shared back during the monsoon season in 2018

The policeman came out of a car which was driving by (for the victim it most definitely was magical). It was an escort vehicle for the local MLA UT Khader, who was right behind. After getting the woman out from under the car, he arranged for her to be taken to a hospital in the escort car. Luckily for her, there are atleast 4 hospitals within 5 min of that spot.

Come to think of it, Mangalore probably has at least 2 hospitals within 1 km radius of any spot in the city.

My bad, didn't see the date in the video. This was shared in FB autopage, thought it to be recent. Mods, please delete the post if it was already shared here

Normally no cop ever is ever deployed there and as Samaspire pointed out, he was in the local MLA's escort vehicle. The junction is in one of the rather narrower interiors roads near Kadri Kambla and there is no space to even to install/build a small roundabout at the junction, which leads to a lot of confusion in heavy traffic. There have been quite a few accidents at such junctions there because of Mangalore's well known Tulu driving Cliche - YBNT -Yaan Bathey, Nikkul Tooley , which roughly translates in English to - Here I come(carelessly & First), You (Beware &) watch yourselves!!!

Ambulance drivers can drive in rash manner even when there is no emergency.I noticed this thing first hand once while transporting a relative from one hospital to another. They feel they can get away with this since its an Ambulance.

In that incident, my patient got scared due to rash driving of ambulance and was clearly not comfortable inside it ( I was following in my car and could not catch up with Ambulance ).

In this case Ambulance fish tailed, could be bad tyres or Non-ABS ambulance we never know. But this was hands down fault of Ambulance driver who could have abandoned his overtake on seeing an oncoming car in such a narrow road.

The patient could have died of shock!
