CCTV footage of a terrible accident from Kerala. The husband is dead and wife has been hospitalized.
Video source is a Tamil TV channel who have blurred out some graphic content.

I have a feeling that the actual speeds were much higher than what seems to be on CCTV footage for the lady to be flying in the air at CCTV height level. Ghastly, nevertheless.

Crazy. Before Cctv's and dashcams, we could only assume or investigate how an accident could have occured. Now we have crashes that bad, wherein people are airborne and thrown towards a Cctv.

Saw this a few minutes ago on the NH44 near Mukpal In
Telangana. Looks like the truck driver wasn't careful enough.

The movement of super-size cargo needs to be pre-planned. Measured to the mm where necessary! In this case, either it wasn't, or a mistake was made.

By the way, is there a standard or minimum clearance for such overhead signs?

Shipping & Logistics is a complex business. Many times even new bridges are built to transport a super-sized cargo, both in terms of dimensions & weight, across say a river.

As mentioned in the previous post, usually the whole route is planned to the last detail and pilot vehicles accompany such cargoes.

Either the Innova driver dozed off or a preplanned murder.

Looks intentional. The 2 wheeler person was driving to the extreme left, absolutely not at fault. The road is a 2 lane, so the Innova had a free lane to itself. Could've corrected even at the last moment.

If the Driver had dosed off, the speed wouldn't have been so high. The video is played in slo-mo, so actual speed is more. Very horrific. We see such scenes only in Movies with CGI. RIP

That looks like murder rather than an accident. If you speed up the video to be played at 1.5x you can see how fast the Innova was compared to the two wheeler. Madness!

Can we call this as an accident ?

It seemed to me more like a planned murder.

The first rider missed by a small distance too.

Seems like a case of diverted attention or dozing off.

Either the Innova driver dozed off or a preplanned murder.
Distracted by phone more likely - possible scrolling whatsapp messages. Looking at the trajectory of the car, the scooter had no chance even if he saw the car early and stopped by the footpath.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

A 35 year old man and his 30 year old wife with three daughters aged 7, 3 and 1 were travelling on NH 6 on a bike (total five passengers, not uncommon in India). Kondhali is about 60 kms west of Nagpur on NH 6. This incident happened on 20/08/22 near Kondhali. A 22 year old, driving a pick up truck hit the bike and all the five bike occupants fell down on the road. The one year old daughter died (most likely being youngest was seated on the lap of her mother), while today's news says that the 3 year old daughter too succumbed to her injuries. The other bike occupants are injured and under medical care at a hospital in Nagpur.

The truck driver has been booked as the report says under relevant sections of the IPC and the MV Act. The 35 year old driver also needs to be booked under relevant sections of the IPC and MV Act for his lawlessness, carrying 1+4 passengers on a two wheeler and being responsible for the death of his two daughters, one an infant. The press report is silent on this aspect.

Saw that video multiple times and it seems that Innova increased its speed after seeing the two-wheeler. Very tragic.

As per MORTH standards 5.50 m vertical clearance is to be adopted
