That looks more like a Hyundai SUV or crossover to me. This is not in India.

EDIT : That is the Hyundai Tucson sold in UAE, etc.,

Not the rear axle but the drive shaft, the long iron rod with knuckles seen in a later photo. It may have led to the accident and damage to the rear axle.

Likely; though I feel the bracket securing the leaf springs pack to the axle is the one that gave way first.

There should be no guesswork. Life should not rely on guesses. When you see a pedestrian, especially in a circumstance like this, you consider that they might do anything. Please keep guessing off the roads.....
Very true. It's quite simple, really. When you see living things on the road, SLOW DOWN.

After all we can die another day but live forever. Driving safe and with anticipation makes the drive memorable and vivid to recollect without any pain points.
All said and done destiny defines the moments and we only are mere Travellers on the way

News just came in, Hema Malini's Mercedes (unsure about model) got in an accident with a Maruti Alto. Accident claimed the life of a little girl along with 4 others who are badly injured, travelling in Alto. Hema Malini got minor bruises and seems fine.

Feels so sad to know that everyday young people's lives are claimed in road accidents. May god bless that young soul.

RIP the young kid.

Happened near Dausa (Rajasthan), around 60 kms from my place. She was in S Class. Looks like none of the occupant was belted in the Alto, neither seems like Hema Malini was belted.

This 4 lane highway connecting Agra-Jaipur usually have very low density traffic and feels quiet but that makes it more dangerous to drive on.

Another accident occurred around same place in 2011 IIRC when a young guy from Jaipur was going towards Agra in his S-Class. His car's A pillar hit a truck from behind and the speeding car toppled and banged into some road side structures. That was discussed in a separate thread.
