For the Alto crash, I think it rear ended a stationary HCV or head on collision with HCV. This is obvious from the state of A-pillar that has taken the hit and the front wheels are still not having huge damages if the car had hit, lets say, another small car like WagonR/Santro.

I hope that the passengers would have survived, considering that atleast the rear is quite intact after such massive impact.

Looks like the Alto went right under a large (high to be more precise) Truck or Trailer, at high speed and at a slight angle. THe bend on the roof suggests this. The front tires are still in tact.!!!

I dont if this has been posted before. This took place in Oct 08, it was a head on collision with another bus and 10 people got killed including the driver. The bus has been rebuilt and in use.

In use ? Ok I understand that the engine is at the back but what about the structural damages ? Man, I'll have to think twice before I ask friends/relatives to use the services of these Volvos to get to me, or me to them for that matter. The Volvo scene is getting worse in this country.

Wouldn't it be nice to mention the source, especially when you are not the photographer? I feel it is unfair not to mention source.

The entire body is ripped apart and re-done by Volvo. You would never know that you are travelling in a rebuilt bus, for you to dissuade your relatives from traveling in it.

Ford IKON in flames - Bangalore

There was an IKON got fire between Marthahalli and KR puram just before hotel Jalsa. I was on my way back to home after office and it was around 8.30PM tonight. Sorry, I was using public transport, so could not stop there and take pictures.

Looks like a short circuit and it was almost 50% in flames. The roads were blocked as the fire was reaching the fuel tank and expecting an explosion. It was really a sad seen and hope nobody was there in the car. More details must be there in tomorrow's news paper.

If anybody got chance to take pictures, please post.

I saw that too.. Could not take snaps because I was on the way to the Airport to drop my sister. While coming back I saw it again but it was too dark and looked like it was burnt 80%..

Thats great! Honestly I did not know it was redone, by Volvo itelf. Now for the driver. Any info on how they are redoing them ?
They are the reason for the 'dissuasion' part of my post.

In this picture note the drivers seat which seems to have come of its rails. Is this normal in any frontal collision or is it because of the rear passengers impact on the front seat. I remember reading some where that in the event of a collision, a rear passenger of average weight not wearing seat belts will hit the front seats with a impact equal to 1 ton. Is this true?
