I've been cursing bus drivers every time I read of yet another fatality.

And then I began to realise how often I see words like "when swerving to avoid a two-wheeler" and I think that maybe many of my curses were undeserved.

Ok so what the Devnagri script says is that,
A scorp was on SB Road going towards Pune University
An Indica joined the road from some turn.
The Scorp Climbed/Banged into the Indica.
No one was hurt.

Yes from what the paper says, none were injured.

What I think is Scorpio must have braked and streered heavily at same time which normally tend vehicle to loose balance, it must have brushed indica at the point where it was out of balance and the brushing must have pushed it further to topple

Fortunately none was injured, the body strength of Indian SUVs and cars is really appreciable I have seen Tata Safari Toppled at speed of 120 kmph but 3 people were scratchless, 2 were not wearing seat belt

that doesnot mean lives will be saved in strong vehicles even if the seat belts are not worn,

People buy vehicles fitted Air Bags and dont wear Set Belts; Air Bags are Supplementry Restrain Systems, so SRS is written on it, and they can actually kill you in case of frontal collision if not wearing seat belt, the reason is you hit onto them when they are getting deployed, that means you are hitting on small bomb, but same Air bags saves you while seat belts are On beacause the Lap belt doesnot allow you moving up and the Chest belt restricts your forward movement, so you hit air bag after they are deployed, so they function like cushion

I have hardly seen people wearing seat belts in 2nd row, as in cities police has succesfully implemented wearing seat belts in the front, now they should quickly follow the 2nd row seats and Infant seats, this enforcement should be coupled with the passengers education on the seat belt importance in life saving

I think if Team BHP can take a lead then we can together do some activities on the speading awareness on safety and education that just buying vehile with safety fetures is not enough but following safety guidelines is more important

few things like

Wearing Set Belts by all occupants
Keep Safe Distance and Drive
Give appropriate Indicators and Drive
Use Tubeless tyres, never drive at high speed with under inflation
use Infant seats for kids below age of 5
Drive with Low beam
if you see some irregularity on road dont just escape, stop correct the irregularity if possible, if not then try and place some warning, inform the road care takers. so that cars following will be saved from the accident
dont pay toll if roads are not upto the mark of safety front
if you see accident on road, stop and help

Quite a severe accident for Safari! The cabin seems to be OK, crumple zones have come to picture. Imagine the same accident with front crash guard fitted vehicle.

This was what happened when a 52 year old lady doctor drove it. Came to know from the workshop.

Saw an accident live..!!

Yesterday night a guy [probably drunk] in Café Coffee shop on Bangalore Mysore highway [Near Maddur around 2:30 AM] was trying with his esteem was trying to do something on the middle of the road. He was rising his car like hell and suddenly release the clutch. May be he was trying to the way Vin Diesel did in The Fast and the Furious. Suddenly he lost his controll, the car jumpped the 2feet width drainage channel hit the grils of the high foundation structure. We were sitting on the table exactly on the path of that car ant talking about this nuisance.

The guy was so lucky he just missed the concreat pole and the coconut tree on the left side and a parked bike on the right. No damage to anyone. In fact 5-10 mins back a group of 7-8 were standing there.
Standing on the path of uncontrolled car and seeing it crashing just 3-4 feet away was really scary.

Mrinal, I was looking at the estimate, whats the R/RF column?

There are certain things like the "Panel Headlamp Support" which are being replaced but they also have costs involved for denting (what gives?). If a panel is new there shouldn't be any cost involved for denting/repairing it.

That's just an unorthodox parking technique.

I hope he gave the security man his rs.5 when he left

Yesterday evening around 8:15, whilst going towards Punjabi Bagh from Patel Nagar, these was a chaotic jam. Just on top of the Shadipur Depot flyover, a Lancer had caught fire on the opposite side.

I saw the remains of this car when I was coming back (couldn't see it while going due to the crowd etc.) The car had NOTHING but just a frame left.

Did anyone happen to see it or click pictures? Looked like a case of short circuit in the wiring.

This is what happens when everyone tries to be first and not giving the other right to pass.
