I'm not sure Thad realised while saying this but I think the above statement accurately describes the probable reason of what happened to that Kwid in the above post.

"People don't change their driving style from bike to car." What a way to explain it

And yes, the that kind of breed exists. Man, Thad, you're hilarious. You had me in splits, the way you put it.

A one and half year old toddler who fell from a vehicle at Rajamala in Idukki, Kerala was miraculously saved by the timely intervention of forest officials. The child crawled and reached the nearby forest check post. After 40 kms past only the parents get to know about their kid was missing.

I could go further...

Haven't we all seen even buses driven in bike style?

I spent some time in UK last year. It is not at all that I prefer it there: I chose to live, and drive, here. But analysing what single factor made the streets so much more pleasant there, even in London, the answer was absence of bikes. yes, it really makes that much difference.

Thank God the toddler is safe. This is one of the craziest things one could imagine. Did the toddler fall down from a Jeep which didn't have doors? Probably the parents would've been in deep sleep. Or else, no one would be so careless.

I agree with you on this. Another irritation are the auto walas. I always love to hear about ‘auto rickshaw strike’. That day would be a day of peacefulness on the road. Basically the bikers and auto walas drive the same way. These guys don’t understand traffic conditions and for them even a tightly packed (with vehicles) road seems like an empty highway.

I have more time for the auto drivers. So many bikers never know the rules, never care about them, and ride oblivious to everything around them. Many auto drivers, although they may flout the rules and cheat the traffic do know and understand how it works. They even make good stand-in traffic police, untying the knots that other drivers have created.

Good you brought this up, for the uninitiated, here is the link http://www.bangaloretrafficpolice.go...icEyePost.aspx . As rightly mentioned by fellow bhpian airbus, we need to do our bit too. It would be good to spread the word. Now that the fines are exorbitant, it might indeed teach a lesson or two to those who don't care to follow rules.

Any more info available about the accident? The condition of the car looks very bad.

Was that a test drive car or a customer's car?

I made 100+ complaints there, along with my dashcam captured proofs. hope some action is taken in those cases. There is no feedback on what action taken against our reports.

I may be posting about this at least for the 10th time but they didn't take action on a Hit and Run case that I captured on my Dashcam including vehicle number and all they did was to tell me that Hit and Run case is not a traffic offence.

I have posted videos about one way rule violations including screenshots but they don't bother. In the end, I have learnt that they want to be in the limelight by attending only selective complaints and show it on papers.

My problem is that the information of the person bringing the complaint is not masked in any way. This is a major security hole.

I don't want to be the recipient of threats from dada.

This is why I don't take false pride in all these initiatives by the authorities which is half-baked like the above.

In reality, the same truck driver would have been penalized for "Rash and negligent driving" which anyway is a traffic offence, isnt it?

I have posted videos from their so called "Zero Tolerance Junction(s)" where vehicles appear from all directions and all possible wrong ways violating every rule and yet they proudly display these signage and also claim to have a platform and Social media page to act on complaints.

They're right. Hit and Run is not a traffic violation, it's a criminal offense. Not under the jurisdiction of traffic police.
