Dude what exactly happened. It looks more like a rear end collision or rather a rear end drive over.

Man you should consider yourself lucky to be in a state to post these pictures.

Shocking pics.

Guys Me too met with a similar fate way back in 2002.
The quality of the pics are not good as scanned the pics and copied them on a PC. I was inside the car when this happened. A truck hit from the drivers side when the car was stationary.

How it Happened

Hi TBHPians,
So many of you asked how it happened. So here it is....a flashback!

I was driving from Cochin to Bangalore....at salem, on the highway, a little girl just ran on to the road out of nowhere...think she was playing and came on to the road to pick up something..I was at around 130km/hr i avoided her and shifted to the opposite lane...but i was heading straight for a head on collision with a lorry...so i turned the car away again...and it went off the road. The road there was elevated, so there are depressions on the sides...the car took off from the road turned in the air and landed into the depressed area upsidedown....and toppled over 5 or 6 times(as per eye witness' statements)...i was wearing my seatbelt( else i am deadmeat). I suffered multiple compound spinal fractures at 5 places and neck... collar bone and dislocated arm apart from a badly wounded head...the skull n brain was safe though..the injury was superficial. I was hospitalised for 8 months....with my left side paralysed...but thanks to god and my lovely parents....i came back strongly to life...the doctors keep telling me that my recovery was just unbelievable...infact nothing short of a miracle whichever way you look at it.

But this accident has been the best thing that ever happened to me(u can blame it on my extreme optimism) ..since it has changed me as a person in so many positive ways..Life all of a sudden changed..situations showed how bad life can get...but like i said, positive thinking and support of family and a lil bit of will power did it for me. And m back to normal life now.

Phew! nostalgic....almost in tears!

The car cost 10 lakhs and the damage tallied upto 12....it was not a very old car just 9 months since purchase, way back in 2005. The insurance guys handed over a brand new car , though we had to put in around 3 lakh 50 thousand.

TG, a miracle no doubt.
I am sure people would be able to learn from your fighting spirit, as well as optimism which you display now.

@Torqueguru, just reading your account of the accident gives me the jitters. Am glad you are fine after such a scary incident. Hope nothing happened to the small girl who jumped into your path.

It was less than a year old, then why did you have to pay 3.5 lakhs for a 10lakh car ?
