Single most dangerous vehicle driving on the Indian Roads. Whenever I see them I am extra cautious.

Pedestrian safety for cars reversing into people? Are you sure about that?

For the life of me I could not find out how this happened, I think the turtle was a Sumo, not sure. A local standing on the road-side said nothing serious happened, could not stop for long as there was traffic behind me and they were honking mad.

That is disastrous, maybe it got flicked by a rock while doing high speeds, any idea about the injuries ?

I hope no one was inside it.

Here is what happened to my friend's ZMR yesterday, he was going at about 65kmph, and a learner chick(w/o license and NO L plates) stalls her car in front of him coming out of nowhere(literally she came out of the bushes on the side of the road, my friend got no time to brake, though he tried his best, we have filed a police complaint. The person who was accompanying the idiotic lady told the police that he was driving and not her, to which we raised objection, even the policeman was insisting upon us that we should not put the case on the underage girl, but we did not agree to him.

He has a fractured arm, fractured leg and some bruises on his chest. His bike is total loss except for the engine, was very painful for him since he had bought this bike on EMI's a few months back out of his own salary.

Oh God! This looks terrible. I hope he gets fine soon.

Is this Chd.?

Learners are always a huge nuisance on busy roads.

Oh man, thats one terrible mess of the ZMR. That guy must have waited months to get his bike delivered as ZMR has a huge waiting list and almost costs 1 lk on road

What a mess, the bike is indeed a total loss and he must be hurt badly because ZMR has no crash guards to protect the biker's legs. I hope he gets fine soon.

Been there, only it wasn't a bike I was driving, it was a VW Passat, and it wasn't a young learner, it was an old guy with his dog. Did 2,000GBP worth of damage to the Passat, which had to be towed back from Cornwall to its owners, a London car-hire company. Police exonerated me, and I didn't have to pay anything. Felt sorry for the old guy... but if stall in the middle of a busy main road, there's not much hope. None of the three of us (him, me, dog) had any injuries, but his old Metro was a much bigger mess than "my" Passat. Hope your friend gets fixed up soon, and that the insurance fixes up his bike.

Good you pressed the case. Don't know what the law says... but it should haul up the parents too. Being underage is not a justification for what happened. I learnt driving at a very early age, but my dad was always extremely particular about where and how I drove and he was always right on me. Hope your friend recovers without permanent damage.

No no. I was replying to another post.

EDIT: This post.

If my car crumples by getting hit or hitting a cycle, there sure is some serious problem.
If you notice I said, it is also called pedestrian safety. Perhaps a rephrase "Denting/damage to the body work in modern cars from even relatively minor crashes also has to do with pedestrian safety."

A motorcyclist died on NH 17 at Kaup–Koppalangady, following a head-on collision with a Maruti Swift car at about 11.30 pm on Sunday April 18.
As a result of the impact, the motorcycle and the rider were thrown a distance away from the highway.
