The Esteem went head-on, and as you can see, its crumple zones did their job. The radiator seems in place, which means the front fender and bumper took the whole impact. It would have been pretty much reversed if the cars had reversed their positions.

We all know what Skoda's build quality is backed up by these days, anyway.

agree:!!
If a car is crumbled like the above Esteem, it's a good sign!
It means the crumple zones of the car are doing their job!

GTO

Back in the garage, Skoda guy would have spent more than that esteem to get the car back in shape.

However, with such a build quality, it can sure save lives.

When my car was hit from the back by a speeding lorry only the back right panels were crumpled. I didnt even have to paint the hatch door. Crumple zones are very effective these days but cost a bomb to repair though

But then, however much they cost, I hope you would agree that they are still cheaper than human life. If not for crumple zones, the shock would be transmitted to the occupants, endangering their safety.

An indica on NH47 at Kollam (Kerala).

A crashed Optra again on NH47, but near Salem. This car had crashed into a tree on the wrong side of the road. Guess, the driver dozed off while driving.

A Hero Honda And Honda City Crash On NH 8.

Mugen_Power.

Atleast one Honda is stronger :)

The front impact airbags would open when there is a full frontal collision. In the case of a spinning vehicle, there is not much chance that the driver or passenger would be hitting their face into the dash or the steering wheel. The airbags exploding without making full straight forward contact with the face can cause severe damage to the spine. If the vehicle had side curtain airbags, that should have been deployed in such an accident.

Hey Mugen! some people will get the impression that the City crashed with the Hero Honda and it transformed into this shape. Was there a 3rd character in this mishap?

The honda city reminds me of an accident I had posted earlier...chk it out
