judging from the way that Scorpio's roof has caved in, i think it would have been a tree.

Saw these two cars in the local garage. The alto must have gone under a local transport bus, i could see some blue paint on the bonnet. Dunno what happened to the 800.

Was the corner insane? Or your speed?

What is the speed limit on that road?

The speed limit on the GQ is 80 kmph or alteast in that stretch. I believe I've seen 90 kmph in someplaces. However its 80 kmph almost always.

The corner is insane and so are the speeds done typically as you get onto the bridge. There are a lot of corners (on top of bridges and at ground level) that are banked, so a lot of drivers fall into a sense of complacency. However this one is not.

The road between Pallikonda and Vaniyambadi tollgates have wonderful straight and very dangerous sharp curves. There are no in-between. Infact, all the flyovers (2 in Vaniyambadi and one in Pachakuppam) are all curved, unbanked and cannot be taken at more than 100 kmph.

Dear Team members,

I presume that the flyovers mentioned are within city limits, so can someone let us know as to why anyone would want to drive at such high speeds on a city road and please "I took all care" and "there was no one around" do not justify speeding any which way.

No. All these flyovers actually bypass the towns on the highway. The high speeds are due to the good roads, but still that is not an excuse for over speeding.

I have noticed 50kph limit on some of the bridges enroute, cant recollect which ones though.

From what I noticed the 50kph is near towns and 80kph is other places.

Does anyone know of an accident on Mysore road on Wednesday?
What I heard is that a college student in Elantra drove into a truck and lost his life.

Read the same in TOI this morning. Apparently, it was being driven by the driver on the way back from the airport. The only other occupant was the office assistant. The news can be read on the e-paper of TOI Hyderabad edition.

Cheers,

I get your point Thad, I was on 3 digit speeds while taking that corner! My speed was insane I have to agree.

Yet, the banking in that corner and an almost 90 degree turn angle makes it disastrous for anything more than a hatch/sedan even if they are doing the speed limit of 80KMPH.
