I guess that's acceptable as it will be like a new build. It may not have the factory engine fitting but would be a better bet.

ps: i didn't read that this was a long time ago so this should have been settled by now. funkydevil, any idea what happened finally?

IMO Swift chassis should be fine. It will be very hard to claim a total loss.

5 guys in the car, including my friend as a driver.

The accident just ripped apart the parts... and at 1st glance I was sure its going to be hospital time for everyone, but somehow nobody was injured!

Hey,

Well the car's fine now, there were a few rattles but there taken care of now. It just went in for its 5000k service. Cost came upto 3.5Lkhs as was told to me.

Funny thing that's happening now is that there was a problem with the fuel pump, n my frend got it checked from a reliable mechanic.

He says that the fule pump seems to be pumping out more fuel to the engine, not that much, but just a little more than the usual, and this seems to be giving a kinda turbo type of kick early on. In the sense, you get like a push, just like when the turbo kicks in, only this at lower rpm's.

The mechanic siad it wont be much of a prob. and the fuel efficiency does go down to about a liter or two, but it dosent matter to him. My fren seems to be enjoying it as it now feels like two turbos comming in, at lower as well as higher rpm's.

No wonder they say what happens, happens for the good

Thats a bad crash. Hope no one was injured.

The swift is battered. Luckily no one was injured. Speaks a lot about the crash worthiness of the swift.
What OVRM?? Check the plastic grill man!

Red Swift carsh is very hard. Swift took quite a beating.
In the case of white swift also, swift took torture.

The silver car posted by kpZen is clearly a ford, and most probably, a ford Ikon.

On a somewhat lighter note in this heavy topic, can we post the photographs of swift crashes and people surviving in swift in "Is the swift build quality so poor ? "

Going by the ORVM, it doesnt look like an Ikon, unless ofcourse the guy had non-standard ORVMs fitted. However, the front did look like an Ikon to me.

It is not an ikon , its a most probably getz because :
1. You can read getz written on the seat cover
2. ikon has the windshield wiper cap on the top left side (towards the windscreen)which is not there in this one
3. As Ben said these are not ikon ORVM's

Where's the doubt guys. It's a getz. It can't be any other car. The grill, the engine bay, the door frame, the ORVM, the bonnet crease. I didn't even need a second look to know that was a getz.

Hi Aditya!

merc and audi logos are ok!! who would want to put a getz logo onto his car if not for the getz itself!!

Cheers
