I have serious doubts that this was parked on the fast lane, who would do that !! Must have been parked on the outer lane.

This 7 series seems to have suffered a massive crash on the way to Amby Valley. Too bad because it seemed to be the facelift version, and hence a pretty new car.

Now thats more than just gonna burn a BIG hole in the pocket.. Should definately be atleast 10-12lakhs plus repairs..

But how did the body piece below the door come off?? And cuz the apron is gonna need a replacement, wonder if it'll ride just like new when its back on road. And btw, any idea what happened?

First, the Accord - nice and new piece of machinery and a really sad incident.

Second one - the beemer was real shocker, but it goes on to show the strength of a well engineered vehicle. Damage to the pocket must be really high on that one.

@stopping on the expressway - i have seen people stopping their car on the 'fast' lane of expressway to pee - and once a Trax was stopped on that lane as some 5-6 people needed to ease themselves. Take that !

BMW in a crash ..

The BMW is aiming for atleast Rs. 10 lakh repairs. The integrity of passenger cell is awesome. Its worth the price then. Easily and luckily no unpleasant news from BMW.

I dont think the damage was as severe as it seems in these photos - my guess is that karate kid may have been sent there to remove all the damaged parts that might have been a liability during towing (headlights, bumper, sidepanel/apron etc) and thats why it looks a little worse than it is.

Getting rearended at high speeds is a sure way to hit your head on the headrest and break your neck. It can be fatal at times.

Wrong! while getting rear ended at high speeds, it is the head rest that SAVES your neck.

I've seen plenty of whiplash injuries and fractured cervical vertebrae. they are the worst in cars without head rests.

Agreed!

Tron - infact in some more "advanced" cars, on sensing a rear impact the headrest even moves forward towards your head to help prevent whiplash even further.

Happened with me at Essel World. I was driving one of those electric cars- the dodgem or bump cars or whatever you call them. About a foot behind the seat is a vertical rod that receives electricity from the wire mesh overhead. Now I had to stop for a moment and right then, someone rear-ended me. My head snapped back and hit the vertical rod. The knock was painful, of course, but the backward snap of my neck was really stressful. My head reeled and the remainder of the ride was all hazy. I somehow managed to bring the car back to the side. I can well imagine what would happen if you were stationary and were rear-ended by a truck!

I'm told everyone escaped alive. dont know how thats possible.

check out the condition of the tyres of the esteem. the spare wheel is also not tightened in the spare wheel well.

regarding the alto: accidents attract a lot of attention / drivers usually gets distracted.
