Why so?? I can see only the bonnet is damaged and not sure about list of things to be changed. An I feel you also dont know more than that about the list of parts to be replaced. Please dont generalise. If its a FIAT people always assume parts are not available. Sad

Well, one of my friend got rear ended. He damaged his bumper and hatch. As in A.S.S they do not tinker, but replace the part, he had to wait 2 months.

Another one of my friends damaged the running board, and had to wait 1 month for some silly (god knows what) part to arrive.

Going by this, as a normal person.. I would also think that the owner is going to wait a loooonnggg time, before he gets his car back.

Given the top-speed of these road-rollers and their streering design (multiple turns of the steering wheel to turn the front-wheel by a few degrees), I can not imagine how on earth did this one topple over.

^^^I do not know but I have a faint hope that the Scorpio was stationary. Parked I hope.
Hope I am true.

This might have been caused by change in elevation on road (at a curve).

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Had a near-death experience yday night, averted a last minute freak accident on the Hyderabad ORR - by far the scariest driving experience i ever had.

There were about 2-3 trucks which occupied the left side 3 lanes leaving me only the fast lane on the right to overtake them (they were crawling at 20kmph while am cruising at 100). It was a curvy uphill road and hence the snail-pace of the truckers. Suddenly out of the blue there was a huge truck (followed by two more behind it) hurtling down in my lane towards me (in the wrong direction) at a speed of at least 70.... I had absolutely no where to go with the divider on my right and the slow moving trucks on the left. Having been in several tight spots earlier i can vouch this was the most scariest! My brain stopped working and i understood the meaning of the cliched 'entire life flashing before my eyes' thing! Am still surprised i got out of this unhurt without even a scratch on the car even.

After collecting my wits, i dialed up 100 to report the incident - they put me in queue for 10 mins and finally when my call connected all i cud hear was the chatter of some men in the background - they just left the phone aside!

And after driving for 5 mins, witnessed another accident where a truck going in the opposite direction on the 'other' 4 lanes, has somehow managed to cross the wide divider and rammed into an indica that was in my lane! Freaks!

This is what happens when u adopt the best roads from other countries, but not their safety measures!

How did you get away without a scratch? you braked hard? the opposite truck braked hard? or what?

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Just saw a accident on Baner road, Pune. Its in front of GREEN PARK hotel.
Car involved are maruti Esteem,SX4,Alto,Accent. High speed rear ended.
Major damage to Esteem and Accent. SX4 was in front and driven by a smart lady.
Her sudden break / maneuver causes the accident.
( Got this info from people gathered at the spot )

It was i who braked hard and swerved in the last sec avoiding the oncoming truck by inches, the truck didn't even try braking, if he did, there would be a chain collision as there were two more trucks tailgating him at 70kph on downhill slope! My mind was so numb i just couldn't react in any way, only noticed that the last truck had a punjab registered number....

Behind me there was an indica and another SUV (i had just overtook them) who braked hard too!

Is it just me or are the accidents in India getting scarier by the day?

Her sudden braking probably saved a life.
Morons behind her did not keep sufficient distance .

100 % agree to this.

the golden rule is " Person who bangs from behind is culprit" this is well endorsed rule in books of police too.

you have to be extremely careful and keep safe distance considering the quality of braking of your vehicle, quality of braking of vehicle in front and be 110% alert while driving to avoid such incidents.

You are 100% correct "alto99".
The Morons behind her should keep sufficient distance between the car.
but in pune, you can find this type of Morons every where.
Tailgating your car and constant honking is a common sight here.
God save us and our car.
